The Icefree 20 should not drift free. Consequently fasten
it to the pond floor with a stone and a piece of rope. The
rope must be long enough so that the hinged filter (2)
is suspended app. 10-15 cm over the pond floor and the
float (6) is not pulled under water. Fasten the free end
of the rope to the eye provided for this purpose on the
hinged filter (Fig. 2a) An additional possibility is to lay
a stone in a loop of the power cord on the pond floor
(Fig. 2b).
Placing the Icefree 20 in service
1. Grasp the Icefree 20 by the rope with the stone
and by the hose (4). Carefully ease it into the
water.
2. Layout the power cord in such a manner that it is
protected from snow and ice damage.
3. Plug the power plug of the power cord into an
outlet with installed earthing contacts. The
Icefree 20 is in operation.
5. Cleaning/M aintenance
Attention!
Do not use any cleaning agents or hard objects for
cleaning.
Regularly remove calcium deposits and debris on the
pump (1) and on the hinged filter (2).
Proceed as follows for this:
1. Unplug the power plug!
2. Take the pump out (1) of the water.
3. Turn the threaded collar (3) counter-clockwise
until it is loose.
4. Open the hinged filter (2) and remove the
pump (1).
5. Pull off the hose (4).
6. Carefully pull off the pump housing (1a).
7. Pull the rotor (1b) out.
8. Clean the rotor (1b) and the pump casing (1a) as
well as the hinged filter (2) with clean water and a
soft brush.
9. Replace the rotor (1b).
10. Push the front part of the pump housing (1a)
onto the pump (1), until it audibly clicks into
place.
11. Ensure that hose (4) and clamping point for the
sword (5) are clean, clean if required.
12. Push the threaded collar (3) over the hose (4).
13. Insert the hose (4) on the discharge nozzle of the
pump (1).
14. Ensure that the pump (1) is correctly inserted in
the holders of the hinged filter (2). Also ensure
that the connecting line and the hose (4) are
correctly seated in the openings provided.
Operating Instructions
15. Close the folding filter (2).
16. Screw the threaded collar (3) tightly onto the hinged
filter clockwise.
17. Place the device in service again (see Placing the
Icefree 20 in service).
6. Repair
Only have the device repaired by the m anufacturer.
Because a damaged power cord cannot be replaced, dispose
of the pump if the power cord is damaged.
7. Summer storage
–
Take the Icefree 20 out of the water.
–
If required thoroughly clean the Icefree 20 and
pump.
–
Before placing the Icefree 20 in service in winter
again: Check all parts and particularly the power
cord for damage.
8. Troubleshooting
The pump does not pimp water:
–
Check whether the pump (1) is supplied with power.
–
Ensure that the hose (4) is hanging straight, or that
it is not twisted or dirty.
–
Check whether the hinged filter (2) is dirty. Clean it
if required.
