4 Cleaning and Maintenance
This chapter provides important information on properly cleaning and maintaining
your scale. Please follow these instructions to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.
4.1 Safety information
Warning
► Never submerge the unit in water.
► Do not put it in the dishwasher
► Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive cleaning agents.
► Do not attempt to scrape off stubborn grime with hard or abrasive tools.
4.2 Cleaning
To clean the scale, simply wipe the outer surfaces with a slightly damp cloth as necessary.
Dry thoroughly immediately afterwards.
5 Troubleshooting
This chapter offers a few possible solutions to minor problems.
Warning
► Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the manufacturer, may carry out
any repairs on electrical equipment.
► Improperly performed repairs can lead to personal injury or damage to the device.
5.1 Device won't turn on.
Make sure the batteries in both the display and base are new and that they are positioned
with the proper polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
5.2 The displayed weight keeps changing/ won't settle.
Check the scale to make sure it is on a flat, stable, level surface. Also check to make sure
the object being weighed isn't rolling or moving on the weighing platform.
5.3 The display shows "LO-1."
The batteries in the display are low and need to be replaced.
5.4 The display shows "LO-2."
The batteries in the base are low and need to be replaced.
5.5 The display shows "EEEEE."
There is too much weight on the platform and the scale should be unloaded immediately.
