43. ASSEMBLING OF FITTINGS AND PIPES
Assembling of fittings.
When installing the unit it may be necessary to dismantle and assemble the fittings with which it has been equipped.
WARNING: The fittings must be absolutely clean. Clean the fitting and its housing beforehand by removing any
remaining scraps of Teflon.
Wind Teflon round the fitting thread, by turning clockwise (Fig.4). Place the fitting in its housing , and tighten by hand. Insure
tightening with a slight turn of a spanner.
Assembling of pipes.
The necessary pipes are supplied in rolls, to be cut to the right length depending on needs. The cut, using a cutter;
should be clean, without blunders, and perpendicular to the axis of the pipe.
WARNING: The pipes must remain completely clean Check, when installing, that no impurities have been
introduced, notably during cutting : sand, plastic chipping...
The pipes are connected as indicated in fig 18 & 19p26. The produced water pipe (K) is connected to the upper
part of the tank.
WARNING: Do not immerse the piping in the tank.
The rinsing (E) and cleaning (N) pipes are long enough to be immersed simultaneously in an auxiliary bucket placed on the
ground, during membranes rinsing and cleaning operations (Chap. 87.).
To assemble a pipe on its fitting, proceed as shown on Fig.5 :
1- Place the hose clamp, without tightening, then place the pipe on the fitting,
2- Slide the hose clamp to the fitting level and tighten it with tongs.
3- To dismantle the pipe, slide the clamp with the help of a screwdriver, then free the fitting tube.
44. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (See electric drawings fig 7p30, 16p34 & 17p35)
WARNING :
- the AQUA-BASE unit is equipped with circuit breakers insuring its protection and security. This doesn't insure the protection of your installation which
should be equipped with devices conforming to the current legislation.
- No other equipment should be fed from the AQUA-BASE unit box.
- Check beforehand that the unit voltage corresponds with the network.
The connection of the unit should be done on the electric terminal situated inside of the electric box, respecting section and mark of the cables, as i n dicated on
the drawing beside (Fig.7p30).
5. EXTRA
51. REMOTE PANE
This extra insures control and surveillance of the AQUA-BASE unit at a distance from the unit, chart table, main electrical panel,...
Composition.
The remote control is composed of a built-in remote box and its connecting wire.
Assembling.
- Put the remote box in place, according the drawing below (Fig.6p29).
- Open the main electric box of the unit.
- Pass the connecting wire in main box by using the provided way.
- Connect the connecting wire to the electric terminal situated in the main box (Fig. 7p30).
- Shut the main electric box.
52. FLUSH SYSTEM
Allows an easy flushing of the membranes, just by switching on the flush system. Assembling: look at the installation paper delivered with the system.
53. SAND FILTER
Fitted before the 5 micron filters, it allows prime filtration, reducing consumption of 5 micron filter cartridges. The sand filter is equipped with only 1 valve (multi-
position valve)manipulated for the cleaning, rinsing, filtration operations. Particularly interesting when the watermaker is operating in dirty seawater (e.g.
suspended sand) (Fig. 20p29).
