This Monoblock water softener com-
plies with all relevant legal safety
requirements. Incorrect use can, how-
ever, lead to personal injury and
damage to property. To avoid the risk of
accidents and damage to the appliance
please read these instructions carefully
before starting to use it. Keep these in-
structions in a safe place for reference,
and pass them on to any future user.

The Monoblock water softener is only
suitable for the applications mentioned
in the operating instructions. Using it for
purposes other than those for which it
was designed would be
unauthorised and could cause harm.

The Monoblock water softener may
only be connected to suitable Miele ma-
chines for use as stipulated. Consult
Miele for advice.

Please note that when connected to
a hot water supply, the maximum permit-
ted water temperature of 65 °C must not
be exceeded.

The Monoblock water softener must
only be installed by a Miele authorised
and trained service technician or other
suitably qualified and competent ap-
proved person.

Do not connect this equipment to an
electrical appliance in areas where
there is a risk of explosion.

Repairs should only be carried out by
a suitably qualified and trained techni-
cian in strict accordance with current
national and local safety regulations.
Repairs and other work by unqualified
persons could be dangerous. The man-
ufacturer cannot be held liable for
unauthorised work. Ensure that current

is not supplied to the appliance until af-
ter maintenance or repair work has been
carried out.

Children and untrained personnel
should not be allowed access to the
Monoblock water softener.

The water in the Monoblock water
softener must not be used as drinking
water.
~
Never clean the Monoblock water
softener and the machine to which it is
connected or the area around them with
a water hose or a high pressure hose
cleaner.

To ensure safety, national and local
Water Authority Regulations (NWC in the
UK/DIN EN 1717 in Germany) must be
complied with when installing this
equipment. When connection to the
water supply is made, an approved
backflow prevention device (Type C)
must be incorporated between the
mains water supply and the water soft-
ener cartridge. The upper edge of the
device must be at least 250 mm above
the upper edge of the Monoblock water
softener. Waste water must be
discharged in accordance with national
and local water regulations.

contact the Miele Service Department
for advice on safe disposal.
