3.3.1. The device is put in place (Type 160, 300)
Make sure that the underground is even and dry and that no easily ignitable objects are in the immediate
vicinity of the device. The site of installation should likewise be beyond the reach of children. For smooth
functioning it is important that the device is set up so that insects can fly unimpeded toward the
light from both sides. Other sources of light and drafts have a negative affect on the effectiveness
of the UV light.
3.3.2. The device is suspended
Choose the site with care. Other sources of light and drafts have a negative affect on the effectiveness of the
UV light. Make sure that the chains are firmly attached to the device. Install the insect killer between 1.5 und
3.0 m above the ground. Caution: Do not hang outdoors!
3.4. Servicing
3.4.1. Cleaning
Switch the device off and pull the power plug before cleaning. Empty the drip pan on a regular basis.
When doing this, pull it carefully out of the housing. The pan can then be rinsed with water. Let it dry before
reinserting. The protective screen, the high-voltage screen and the UV lamps can be cleaned with a dry cloth
or with a brush.
3.4.2. Exchanging the lamps
Before exchanging the lamps, switch the On/Off switch to "Off" and pull the mains plug. Remove the drip
pan. Now unscrew the two top screws on both side sections. Remove the side sections by pulling them
down. Now flip the protective screen to the front. Remove the lamp(s) carefully from the socket and insert
the new lamp(s). Carefully close the housing again.
Danger, high voltage: Do not re-plug into the power source until reassembly is complete!
3.4.3. Exchanging the starters
Before exchanging the starters, switch the On/Off switch to "Off" and pull the mains plug. Remove the drip
pan. Now unscrew the two top screws on both side sections. Remove the side sections by pulling them
down. Now also remove both side screws in order to dismantle the lid. Remove the lid. By turning the
starters they can easily be exchanged. Insert the new starters and affix them by turning slightly. Seating is
correct when you hear them snap (click) into place. Carefully close the housing again. Danger, high voltage:
Do not re-plug into the power source until reassembly is complete!
