When using a full facepiece respirator in temperatures below 32° F (0° C), use an approved anti-fog solution on the inside of
the lens.

PUTTING ON THE RESPIRATOR

Follow INSPECTION directions SEC 2.2.1 through 2.2.3, then tug once more on the cartridges or filters to assure they are
securely attached. If you have a facepiece with the 5 strap head harness, proceed to Step 3.1.1. If you have a facepiece with
the headnet proceed to Step 3.1.2.

RU6500 FACEPIECE WITH 1) HEAD STRAP OR 2) WITH HEADNET

RU6500 FACEPIECE WITH HEADSTRAP
1)
Remove your hard hat or other headgear prior to putting on respirator.
2)
Adjust the 3 top straps until one inch (2.54 cm) of strap extends through each buckle. Fully loosen the lower straps
(see Figure 6).

Hold the facepiece against your face and pull the straps over your head and center the facepiece and nose cup (see Figure 7).
4)
Tighten the two lower and temple straps in small, equal increments, being careful to not overtighten (see Figures 8 & 9).
5)
Tighten the remaining top strap until a good seal is obtained and all five straps lie flat on your head and are not too tight.
(Figure 10) When properly adjusted, the head strap hub should be centered on the back of your head.
6)
Proceed to Step 3.2 "User Seal Checks".

RU6500 FACEPIECE WITH HEADNET
1)
Remove your hard hat or other headgear prior to putting on respirator.
2)
Fully loosen all straps.
3)
Hold the facepiece against your face and pull the headnet over head and center the facepiece and nose cup (Figure 11).
4)
Tighten the two lower straps and the temple straps in small, equal increments, until a good seal is obtained and all 4 head
straps lie flat on your head (see Figures 12 & 13).
5)
Using both hands, smooth the headnet around the back of head (see Figure 14). Make sure the lower and temple straps
are still tight, but not overly tight. When properly adjusted, the lower straps should be below ears.
