filter will be correctly positioned when it is stable and parallel to the bottom of the tank. WARNING (for versions NMO 30
and 50 only): the heater should be positioned inside the tank. When installing, make sure that the quartz tube does not knock
against the glass panels of the tank.
7. After grouping together the power cables on the corner of the tank, put the corner cable housing profile into place (Fig. 11).
8. Remove the Mechanichem More I chemical filter cartridge from its packaging and insert it into the filter compartment. (For
versions NMO20 and NMO30 make sure that the wording "TOP SIDE", on the cartridge handle, is facing upwards).
The filter compartment surface for increased biological filtering and the biological filter cartridge (Biofoam More - NMO 50 only)
are already in position (Fig. 12)
9. Put the lids back on the filter compartments.
10. WARNING: turn on the electrical appliances only after having set up the aquarium as required and having filled it with water.
UK
Marine water version (NMO30R - 50R)
1. Carefully follow the instructions given from step 1 to step 4 for assembling the freshwater version of the NEWA MORE Filter
(NMO 20-30-50).
2. Turning the hose clamps towards the heater, place the skimmer housing in position, applying a slight pressure until you hear
a "click" (Fig. 13).
3. Pass one end of the flexible transparent PVC hose through the hole at the base of the skimmer slide and insert it into the
coupling at the base of the porous wood element. Place the porous wood element in position inside the slide and attach it to
the skimmer (Fig. 14).
4. Slide the flexible transparent PVC hose through the 2 hose clamps on the back of the skimmer housing. To avoid any
obstruction, make a loop a few centimetres long (Fig. 15).
5. Group together the flexible transparent PVC hose and the power cables of the appliances on the corner of the filter, pushing
them slightly upwards in order to facilitate the next operation (Fig. 16). NEWA More white color version is provided with a spiral
in order to gather the cords and hide them. It is recommended to use it before going on with the following point.
6. Position the NEWA More filter on any corner of the tank, inserting its sides into the slots provided on the filter (Fig. 17). The
filter will be correctly positioned when it is stable and parallel to the bottom of the tank. WARNING: the heater should be
positioned inside the tank. Make sure when installing it that the quartz tube does not knock against the glass of the tank.
7. After grouping together the power cables on the corner of the tank, put the corner cable housing profile into place (Fig.18).
8. Put the skimmer collection cup into place and put on its lid (Fig.19).
9. Remove the Mechanichem More chemical filter cartridge from its packaging and insert it into the filter compartment. The filter
compartment surface for increased biological filtering and the biological filter cartridge (Biofoam More) are already in position.
10. Put the lid back on the filter compartment.
11. WARNING: turn on the electrical appliances only after having set up the aquarium as required and having filled it with water.
V.c AIR-DIFFUSION SKIMMER (NMO 30R - NMO 50R)
The skimmer incorporated in the NEWA More filter allows many organic substances dissolved in the water to be removed as
it produces micro-bubbles to which they can stick. The bubbles are collected in a special container, preventing the organic
molecules from transforming into nitrates and phosphates.
To activate and adjust the skimmer, proceed as follows:
1. After finding the best position for the air-pump supplied, NEWA Wind NWS, cut the flexible PVC hose into a piece at least 20cm
long. Divide the piece into two equal parts.
2. Join the flexible hose from the tank to an outlet of the adjustment tap, and one end of one of the two pieces of hose to the
other outlet.
3. Connect the check valve ("AIR IN" side printed on the plastic) to the free end of the piece connected to the tap. Then connect
the remaining end of the flexible PVC hose to the NEWA Wind S air-pump (Fig.20).
4. Connect the air-pump to the electrical socket only after setting up the aquarium as required and filling it with water.
5. Adjust the air flow of the porous wood element using the adjuster on the adjustment tap. The adjustment will be correct when
foam comes out of the outlet cylinder and collects extremely slowly in the collection cup.
6. To empty the collection cup, stop the air-pump and then remove the collection cup from its housing. Use hot water only to
clean it. Do not use detergents or sponges that have been in contact with soap, solvents or other chemical substances. Put the
