Warning!
Never hook the rope to a work positioning point (belt) or to a ventral point on the victim's harness.
If the victim is not accessible directly to the rescuer, it is necessary to use a pole (OPTION 3) which will enable the rescuer to
remotely connect the victim to the evacuation system. In this case, refer to the directions for use of the pole.
6/ Remove the reeving kit from the bag and position it in the right direction (see § USING THE REEVING KIT),
7/ Connect the rope clamp marked "TOP" to the free strand of rope coming out of the descender, as close as possible to the
descender,
8/ Connect the rope clamp marked "BOTTOM" to the rope connected to the victim,
9/ Reeve in order to put some slack in the victim's fall arrest system AND disconnect the victim from his/her fall arrest system,
Note: If it proves necessary to raise the victim higher (not more than a few metres), you must push the 2 rope clamps as far as
possible from the reeving and repeat the operation.
10/ Remove the reeving from the evacuation rope,
11/ Pass the rope of the descender behind the positioning guide, then into a braking karabiner placed inside the anchoring strap,
12/ Activate the handle of the descender to evacuate the victim, while taking care to check the free space under the victim
throughout this operation,
Note: Based on the environment, it may prove necessary to moderate/regulate the speed of descent and direct the victim using a
person on the ground equipped with a guiding rope (ref. FA 70 900 XX - supplied in this kit - see § USING A GUIDING ROPE).
