English
When building and designing the room, certain risks must be considered:
Risk of fire;
CO
leaks
2
Risk of intoxication;
Oil leaks;
Noise.
Provide enough space for maintenance interventions (Fig. 4)
Ensure the minimum dimensions indicated which must be net of the dimensions determined by pipes or other.
Opening the electrical panel door must not involve obstructing the escape routes.
In case of a refrigeration unit with a soundproof cabin, increase the minimum dimensions by 20 cm so that the panels
can be removed easily in case of maintenance. The removed panels must be placed in areas where they do not
obstruct the escape routes.
Provide a door that allows access to the refrigeration unit and to each of its components.
The space in front of the door must be left free for any movement.
Guarantee REI 120 fire resistance for all surfaces or in any case in compliance with the regulations in force.
Guarantee a floor that is resistant to oil stains, with adequate resistance to the concentrated loads of the refrigeration
unit and to the securing of the support pads.
Size and equip the surfaces of the room according to the noise emission levels indicated in the Technical Data Sheet.
N.B. Refer to the regulations in force in the countries where the refrigeration unit is installed.
Ventilation
The room must have adequate ventilation to:
Ensure that the temperature of the refrigeration unit is always within the operating limits.
Ensure the disposal of any vapours and gases released from the refrigeration unit in case of failure.
Ensure adequate cleaning of the environment through the creation of openings for natural ventilation, otherwise suitable
forced ventilation can be used.
Install the fans near the floor as CO
Protect the openings with adequate grids to prevent the entry of insects or rodents.
For the sizing of the aeration, refer to the following:
NATURAL AERATION
Provide at least two openings, one near the floor and another near the ceiling with a net surface area equal to:
Where:
F = Surface in m
G = Mass in kg of the refrigerant charge of the system
MECHANICAL AERATION
In the case of forced ventilation, provide a system with the following characteristics:
Where:
Q = Air flow rate in m
G = Mass in kg of the refrigerant charge of the system
N.B.
Connect the CO
detector to the fans.

Safety devices
Insert the devices listed below:
Electrical emergency or release switch, located outside the room near the access door to remove the power supply
to the entire room;
Fire extinguisher located near the electric emergency switch for emergency intervention; it must be suitable for live
machinery and have the capacity required for the installations in the room;
Refrigerant gas leak detection system able to activate an optical or acoustic alarm signal;
Hearing protection for access to the room with the refrigeration unit running;
Safety signs on the access door indicating the type and total quantity of refrigerant.
Positioning
Place the refrigeration unit in the final position to avoid movements that may stress the structure.
The support surface must be stable, flat and able to withstand the weight of the refrigeration unit.
After positioning, remove the temporary feet and the brackets used for transport and place the refrigeration unit on the
ground;
Make sure that the refrigeration unit is levelled and correct any imperfections by adjusting the anti-vibration feet.
