16. Emergency situations

ATTENTION! Do not reactivate the system by disconnecting and reconnecting the electrical power
supply
In the event of refrigeration unit malfunctions, do the following:
- Problem: Low CO level alarm

- What to do: Check for leaks and repair them. Restore the correct charge.
- Problem: Pumps off
- What to do: Check the pump control panel and the CO
- Problem: CO compressor stopped

- What to do: Check the oil level, check the high and low pressure switch
- Problem: High pressure alarm
- What to do: Check that the Gas-Cooler fans are working properly; if condensation is obtained by means of a secondary
fluid, check that the heat exchanger plates are working properly and that the condensing unit is running
- Problem: System off
- What to do: Check the alarms on the control panel of the condensing unit, contact the assistance to restore normal
operation within 24 hours from the time of the fault
- Problem: General alarm
- What to do: Call for assistance to restore normal operation within 24 hours from the time of failure.
In all other cases, immediately call for assistance to restore normal operation.
Serious emergencies
Severe emergencies are considered:

Outbreaks of fire in the machine room

Exploding of pipes or parts under pressure

Visible or noticeable refrigerant leaks

Short circuits in machine room

Damage from atmospheric discharges

Damage from other natural events
In these cases the following are necessary:

Immediately turn off the power supply via the main switch on the control panel outside the room.

In case of small fires that make access to the room possible, use a suitable fire extinguisher.

In case of serious fires that make access to the premises impossible, request the intervention of the Fire Brigade.

When the room is safe, call the assistance to restore the systems.
N.B. If an in-house specialist emergency intervention team is available, it must be equipped as follows:
- protections against hot/cold burns;
- Respiratory tract protections such as masks and self-contained breathing apparatus.
