CAUTION: Insufficient tightening torque will cause gas leaks. Apply excessive torque may damage the tube flaring and
cause gas leaks.
5 - AIR PURGING
CAUTION: Do not discharge the refrigerant gas
to the atmosphere to preserve the terrestrial
environment.
Use a vacuum pump to discharge the air
(nitrogen, etc.) remained in the set. If the air
remains, the capacity may decrease. For the
vacuum pump, be sure to use one with backflow
preventive function so that the oil in the pump
does not backflow into the pipe of the unit when
the pump stops.
WARNING: Use only a vacuum pump to purge
air from the piping.
NEVER use the system compressor as a vacuum
pump.
NEVER use the unit refrigerant gas to purge the
connecting pipes. (No additional refrigerant has
been provided in the unit for this purpose).
For the vacuum pump, check oil is filled up to
the specified line of the oil gauge.

In case of multisplit installation the air purging the
following procedure must be performed for each of the
indoor units.
1)
Connect the charge hose to the outdoor unit.
2)
Connect the charge hose to the vacuum pump
adapter.
Keep the control valves in the fully closed position.
3)
Open LO handle completely.
4)
Turn on the vacuum pump.
5)
Perform evacuation until the compound pressure
gauge indicates -101 kPA (-76cm Hg) after about 15
minutes.
6)
Close LO handle completely.
7)
Turn off the vacuum pump.
8)
Maintain these conditions for about 2 minutes and
check that the pressure indicated by the pressure
gauge is not increasing.
9)
Fully open the control valves: first liquid, then gas
side.
10) Detach the charge hoses.
11) Tightly secure the valve and caps of the service port.
