Efficient. Effective. Essential.
2. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
In order to prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH, and DAMAGE TO THINGS, it is necessary to read, understand and follow
the warnings and instructions contained in this manual before installing, using and maintaining the fan.
The fan must be installed directly to the supporting structure of the building, after making sure that the structure itself
is able to withstand at least double of the weight of the complete fan.
The minimum height from the ground and the distance from walkways, mezzanine or any other structure crossed by
people or animals must not be less than 10ft (3.05m) from the base of the fan.
During installation, it is necessary to forbid the presence of people and animals from an area below with diameter not
less than 1.5 times the diameter of fan.
Always connect the safety cable and stabilizer cables as instructed. The lack of proper use and installation of these
devices excludes the warranty of the product. Do not proceed with commissioning without having manually verified the
free rotation of the impeller.
RISKS CAUSED BY IMPROPER USES
Do not insert your hands or other parts of the body near moving parts. Consequences: COLLISION with SERIOUS
INJURY or DEATH.
Do not use the fan in environments different from those specified. Consequences: DAMAGE TO PEOPLE or ANIMALS
and/or FAN MALFUNCTION.
Unauthorized operators are not allowed to carry out any kind of operation on the fan. Consequences: FAN MALFUNCTION
with DANGER FOR HUMAN AND ANIMAL HEALTH/SAFETY.
FAN INHERENT RISKS
Dragging by moving parts.
Violent ejection of objects.
Risk of burns or scalding caused by very hot surfaces of the fan.
Risk of breakages from high levels of vibration.
RISKS DURING MAINTENANCE
Carry out a routine maintenance plan to avoid structural subsidence and mechanical/electrical faults over time.
When cleaning the impeller, even with the power supply disconnected, the impeller could still move by inertia or by
natural or forced air currents coming from the other equipment connected to the same system: there is therefore a
serious risk of shearing and/or pinching. For this reason, the impeller must be mechanically locked.
It is strictly forbidden:
- to work on the fan whilst in operation.
- to work on the fan without disconnecting the power supply.
NOISE
The fan noise levels are stated in dB(A) and are shown in this manual.
NOTE: These values were detected under standard laboratory conditions. Different values could be detected in the
installation conditions, due to environmental reverberation.
MECHANICAL RISKS
The installation of the fan, its operation and purpose involve mechanical risks, which can be resolved with the correct
installation and use.
Maintenance operations must be carried out in safe conditions by isolating the fan from the power supply in a certain
and not accidentally restorable way, using only qualified, informed and trained personnel.

3. TRANSPORT, ACCEPTANCE AND STORAGE

All fans are packaged in wood boxes or fixed on pallets for ease of transport. The manufacturer shall be responsible
only up to the time of loading. Transport must be carried out in total safety; the hauler is therefore responsible for
suitably securing the load. The fan should be moved by using suitable equipment, as prescribed by health & safety
governing bodies in the jurisdiction of the installation.
In case of transport with severe environmental conditions (e.g. transport with material exposed to atmospheric agents,
via ship or on uneven routes), the conditions must be agreed with Refresh Fans Inc. in advance, under penalty of voiding
the manufacturer warranty. WARNING: Stacking or applying loads onto the fans is strictly forbidden.
