Warning: This unit is equipped with an internal combustion engine and should not be used on or near any unimproved forest-covered, brush-
covered or grass-covered land unless the engine's exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester meeting applicable local or state laws (if any).

    ATTACHING THE HANDLE Remove the hairpin clips from the handle brackets and remove the carriage screws and wing nuts from the lower handle. Place the bottom holes in lower handle (notch pointing down) over the pins on the handle brackets and secure with hairpin clips. See Figure 3-2.

Use the end of mounting bracket as leverage when sliding the locking rod. Slip bag over the rim of the discharge opening and release locking rod to secure bag in place.

    TO STOP ENGINE Move throttle control lever to slow (turtle) position. Whenever possible, gradually reduce engine speed before stopping engine. Move throttle control lever to STOP or OFF position. Disconnect spark plug wire and ground it to the retaining post to prevent accidental starting while the equipment is unattended.
