"Supertutor" FROR 450/750V 4x6 sq.mm
* The position of the automatic cutout
switch must enable easy actuation in any
EMERGENCY (maximum distance 3 m).
5.3 ALLOWABLE ROOM
CONDITIONS REQUIRED FOR
CORRECT MACHINE OPERATION
(INFORMATION FOR THE USER)
- ROOM TYPE: CLOSED
- MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10°C
- MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40°C
- RELATIVE HUMIDITY : 75% R.H.
- LIGHTING: 100 LUX (valid for Italy; as
for other national provisions concerning
lighting in working premises, refer to the
relevant national standards).
5.4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The appliance must be installed by qualified
personnel in compliance with the
instructions provided by the manufacturer
and with the local regulations. The
manufacturer declines any responsibility
for whatever personal injury or property
damage may arise from incorrect installation.
Remove the right side panel by unscrewing
its four cross-slotted screws. Check that the
power supply voltage corresponds to the
values on the rating plate of the ironer.
Voltage variations must by no means exceed
±10% of the rated value.
IMPORTANT:
EARTHING is obligatory. For this
purpose, an appropriate terminal on the
main terminal board is supplied for earth
connection, which must comply with the
regulations in force. The manufacturer
declines all responsibility for any damage
resulting from nonobservance of this
accident prevention principle.
In accordance with the latest safety
standards, the appliance is equipped with an
external terminal available for equipotential
connection.
On the electric supply line, ahead of the
appliance, it is necessary to install an
automatic multipolar cutout switch with
contacts spacing no less than 3mm, that
must be calibrated following the appliance's
maximum rated input (see rating plate data
and table below):

CAUTION
Machines equipped with an inverter
provide a current leak to earth of 5-8 mA,
which is owed to the installation of the
interference filter.
This must be considered especially if
various machines are connected to the
same line.
Install a differential cutout switch of
adequate size per machine, considering
that the leakage current caused by the
interference filter is 5÷8mA.
The 3 m long power cord the appliance is
supplied with is a four-pole Icel FROR 450/
750VV 4x6 sqmm "Supertutor" type.
Connect to the wall automatic cutout switch
that is not included in the supply.
The ironer is factory-tested following the
correct cyclic direction of the phases, i.e. R-
S-T (A1-A2-A3) (L1-L2-L3). Changing the
cyclic direction may entail damage to the
appliance. If the machine should be turned
on with the phases wrongly connected, a
safety microswitch will trip, which will
instantly lock out operation of all electrical
parts, motors included.
Should this occur, turn off both the wall
main cutoff and the machine built-in switch
and then invert two of the three incoming
phases.
Then, after having opened the emergency
lid, put the basin in a position that does not
trigger the microswitch and close the lid
again.
Put all removed panels back in place and
provide the machine with power using the
wall main cutoff and the machine built-in
switch.
The basin will then go to its rest position
automatically and the ironer will be ready
for use.
Phase direction can be tested manually as
follows:
- Connect the three phases and the earth
wire.
- Check that the basin is down on the roller.
Otherwise, remove the lid aimed for manual
intervention by using the ad-hoc key
supplied and turn the motor handwheel
counterclockwise until the basin is laid down
against the roller. Turn on the wall and
machine cutout switches and press contactor
C4 (which is marked with a red dot) with a
screwdriver. The basin should then raise; if
it does not, turn both cutout switches off,
invert two of the three power phases and
repeat the test.
IMPORTANT: The pressure on contactor
C4 must last for an instant, so that no damage
is brought to any persons, animals or property
surrounding the appliance. After checking
the rotating direction, put the emergency lid
Threshold
back in place, lock it and fasten the side
panels.
CAUTION: Let the importance of phase
cyclic direction be known to the customer,
user or person in charge of the laundry
room electrical plant in order to prevent
accidental inversion.
In case of wrong phase connection, pressing
contactor C4 (which is marked with a red
dot) for long would break the brass safety
screw on the gear left of the basin reduction
gear, on the side opposite the control board.
Should the screw get broken, to replace
13
with the spare screw supplied, align the
holes on the lever and the gear by turning
the motor handwheel and put the fastening
bolts back in order.

FOR THE USER
6. INFORMATION ON THE
MACHINE
(see fig. 2)
6.1 MACHINE DESCRIPTION
The appliance is composed of the following
main parts (see fig.2):
1) Wooden board on which the items to be
ironed must be laid before being pushed
toward the turning roller. An optional
tray to facilitate laundry preparation is
also available.
2) Emergency finger safety band to avoid
finger contact with hot parts. When
triggered it inverts roller rotation and
lifts the ironing basin.
3) Key-locked lid to be used for emergency
basin lifting (manual drive).
4) Left upright with: first basin-driving gas
spring, basin driving motor and fume
expelling motor.
5) Ironing roller, lined with suitable fabric
(cotton sheet, NOMEX, flannel layer,
steel wool, dust-proof metal net). The
drier version includes the NOMEX
flannel layer and a special steel lamellar
padding.
6) Right upright containing all moving parts,
the control board and second basin-
driving gas spring.
7) Large cloth-collecting tub.
8) Fume outlet to be connected outdoors by
an internally smooth tube of diam. 55mm.
Connection must include no more than 3
-4 90° bends, to avoid insufficient
discharge. For efficient operation,
connection should not exceed 5-6 mts in
length.
9) Lever pedal controlling basin position
and roller start/stop.
10) Emergency push button with electrical
and mechanical simultaneous lock out.
11) Control panel with or without speed
regulation including:
A - Heat regulator with temperature
display of basin temperature
B - Start push button with green led.
C - Stop push button with yellow led.
D - "Heating-on" pilot lamp.
E - Speed adjusting device with speed
display
