4. Optional Connections

4.1 Equi-Potential Earth Connection
The isolation transformer has both a POAG and an earth ground lug connector, which can be used for connection to equi-potential earthing
equipment terminals. The isolation transformer can then be connected to other medical instruments. The POAG connection complies with
the Medical Safety Standard EN 60601-1. Use the equi-potential earth screw to connect to any equipment that requires equi-potential
earth connection and does not have a POAG connection.
5. Troubleshooting
Review the possible solutions below. If the problem persists, please visit www.tripplite.com/support for service.
The appliance inlet of the isolation transformer (300VA, 600VA or 1000VA) is designed so power cannot be applied while
the fuse access door is opened. If this protective feature is damaged, have the appliance inlet replaced by a qualified
service person.
Do not defeat this protective feature or attempt to perform inspection or replacement of fuses while the isolation
transformer is ON and plugged into mains power.
No Output Voltage
Remove power from the unit and check fuses on the inlet fuse holder for IS300HGDV, IS600HGDV and IS1000HGDV models or fuse holders
on IS1800HGDV. Fuse replacement is by qualified service personnel only. If fuses are missing, damaged or unseated, replace or reseat with
correct fuse value as shown in the Fuse Values table (Section 3.1.5).
Blown Fuses
Excess load on the isolation transformer will cause its fuses to open; if it does, the outlets will cease to provide power. Reduce the load on
the isolation transformer down to the unit's Output Power rating by unplugging excess equipment and replacing fuses.
Overloaded
Excess load on the isolation transformer will cause its fuses to open; if they do, the outlets will cease to provide power. Reduce the load
on the isolation transformer down to the unit's output power rating by unplugging excess equipment and replacing fuses. If the fuses are
damaged, replace with correct fuse value as shown in the Fuse Values table (Section 3.1.5).
Overheated
The isolation transformer includes an internal automatic thermal protector which is self-resetting. If the isolation
transformer is overloaded it may cause it to overheat and shutdown. Inadvertent operation of equipment could result.
When the temperature of the isolation transformer cools below 104°F (40°C), it will automatically resume operation.
In the event the unit stops working, remove it from service and have it inspected by qualified service personnel. The
equipment loads should be reviewed by a qualified technician and be determined to be suitable for the application.
