Operation (cont'd)
Wear eye protection when operating
or servicing this tool.
Failure to wear eye protection could
result in serious eye injury from
flying debris or hydraulic oil.
Wear foot protection when using
this tool.
Failure to observe this warning
could result in serious injury.
Wear hearing protection when using
this tool.
Long-term exposure to high noise
levels could result in hearing
damage.
1. Start the power source.
Note: Allow the power source to run for a few
minutes to warm the hydraulic fluid.
2. Set the tamper foot onto the material to
be compacted.
3. Firmly grasp the tube.
Vibration hazard:
Apply just enough pressure to do the work. Applying
excess pressure to the tamper can cause operator
discomfort or temporary numbness.
4. Move the control spool to ON.
5. Apply light downward pressure.
Note: Excessive pressure will have little effect on
the rate of compacting, but will dramatically accel-
erate operator fatigue. Allow the tamper to do the
work.
6. When finished tamping, move the control spool
to OFF.
