Problem
Ram advances erratically

Probable Cause
Air in the hydraulic fluid.
System has an external hydraulic leak.

The manual control valve is not in the
correct position.
The manual control valve is not in the

Quick couplers are not fully threaded
together.
Hydraulic cylinder of the accessory has
failed.
Refer to "Purging (Bleeding) Air" in the
"Maintenance" section of this manual.
Visually inspect the hoses, connectors, and
fittings for leaking hydraulic fluid. Replace faulty
components.

Rotate the manual control valve to the
AUTO RELEASE position.
Rotate the manual control valve to the

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and clean
the couplers. Reconnect the hydraulic hoses.
Hand-tighten the couplers firmly until all threads
are engaged. Do not use a wrench.
Troubleshoot the accessory that is connected
to the pump.
