Should g rease o roilcome incontact with
thedisc drive plate orfriction w heel, besure
toclean t heplate and wheel thoroughly.
NOTE: F orstorage, thehexshaft and
gears s hould b ewiped with 5W-30 m otor oil
toprevent rusting See first f igure o nthis
page.
• Auger Gear B ox -The auger gear b oxis
lubricated atthefactory a nd should n ot
require a dditional lubrication. Ifforsome
reason t helubricant should l eak out, o rif
theauger g ear b oxhas been serviced,
add Lubripfate No. 630-AA or equivalent.
Maximum 3-1/4 ounces should be used
Remove filler plug as seen in figure below
once a year. If grease is visible, do not
add.. If grease is not visible, use a piece
of fine wire like a dipstick, to check if
there is grease in the gearbox. Add
grease if necessary Reinstall gear box

LUBRICATION
Check the crankcase oil level (see figure be-
low) before starting the engine and after
each five (5) hours of continuous use Add

check the oil level
OIL RECOMMENDATION
Only use high quality detergent oil rated
with API service classitication SG. Select
the oil's viscosity grade according to your
expected operating temperature:
NOTE: For extreme cold operating condi-
tions of 0° and below, use a partial synthetic
0W30 motor oil for easier starting.
Change the oil after first two (2) hours of
operation,
every twenty-five (25) hours
thereafter, and at the beginning of each
season
• Position the snow thrower so that the oil
drain plug is at the lowest point on the en-
gine.. Remove the oil drain plug and the
oil fill cap/dipstick. Drain the oil into a suit-
able container Oif will drain more freely
when warm.
• Replace the oil drain plug and tighten se-
curely.
SPARK
PLUG
• Make sure that the spark plug is tight-
ened securely inlo the engine and the
spark plug wire is attached Io the spark
plug
, II a torque wrench is available, torque
plug to 18 to 23 foot pounds.
• Clean the area around the spark plug
base before removal to prevent dirt from
entering the engine
• Clean the spark plug and reset the gap
periodically at 030 inch.
