5.7 INSTALLATION OF A ROOM
TEMPERATURE PROBE
The probe (a) is installed on the aluminium
corrugated pipe (b) which draws the air from the
indoor environment 30 cm away from the inlet or
from the air fan inlet (fig. 5.7.1):
1) unscrew the probe holder (a) from the rear of
the stove
2) pierce one of the two flexible pipes of the air
intake of the fan (b)
3) reassemble the probe with the probe holder, on
the pipe, as shown in the figure.
5.8 HOT AIR DELIVERY CONNECTION.
5.8.1 Protection hood connections for heating one room
Take the flexible pipe by the ends and extend it,
rotating it at the same time (Fig. 5.8).
Cut it to the desired length (not more than 200 cm)
and install the vents at the desired locations.
Attach the pipe (1) to the collars (3) with the clamps
(2) (Fig. 5.8.1).
Insulate the pipes with rock wool.
Fix the vents on the hood or wall at a height of at
least 1,8÷2,0 m from the ground to prevent hot air
from blowing on people.
It is not advisable to run ducts for over 2 m.
5.8.2 Duct connections for heating several rooms
To heat several rooms it is possible to install metal
air distribution ducts in accordance with the following
outline:
-
Flexible aluminium pipe - max. Length 3-4 m per
duct
-
Smooth metal pipe or duct - up to 12 m length for a
one-way duct, 6+6 m for a two-way duct.
Install one air outlet in the room where the fireplace
is installed; the second duct may be used to convey
hot air to the other rooms in the house.
Alternatively, connect the hot air delivery by means
of a flexible pipe to the entrance of the distribution
channels.
The air distribution ducts must have an internal cross
section of 20×20 cm, they must be constructed in
smooth galvanised sheet metal and insulated with a
30 mm sheet of rock wool as a protection from noise
and heat dispersion.
(Fig. 5.8.2: A-Two-way duct, Fig.5.8.2 B One- way
duct).
When the fireplace is used to heat 2 or more adjacent
rooms, it is very important to promote air circulation
from one room to the other in order to obtain an even
temperature. To this aim, kindly fit air grilles on the
doors or leave them ajar.
• The drawing is just an indication on the air intake
and not an example of installation.
The fan intake and exhaust air outlets must not be
closed while the appliance is operating.
