MANUFACTURER'S NOTE
USE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SAFETY VISOR MODEL "V2"
NOTE: Read the instructions carefully before using the visor; failure to follow the advice given could
reduce the level of safety provided by the visor. The manufacturer and/or distributor will not accept any
responsibility in the event of accidents leading to injury or even death due to improper use of the visor. This
visor must be used exclusively for the purposes for which it has been certified. This product has passed the
CE certificate for use with safety helmets for sports activities, for fighting forest fires, for industrial purposes,
work at height and emergency health and first aid services. It has been approved according to EN 166: 2001.
The visor meets the requirements of ANSI Z87.1:2010. Classified as goggles, it protects the area of the
face surrounding the eyes. The visor is compatible with the set of PIUMA, PLASMA and SUPERPLASMA
helmets. This product must not be used in situations other than those it was designed for (e.g. electric risk).
The visor that is the subject of this manual is a Personal Protection Device of the 2nd category and as such,
has undergone CE certification procedure in accordance with article 10 of the European Directive 89/686/EC
and subsequent amendments in directives 93/95 EC, 93/68 EC and 96/58 EC. The EC certification procedure
was carried out by the notified body n. 0426, ITALCERT S.r.l. - Viale Sarca, 336 - 20126 - Milan (MI).
REGULATORY INFORMATION: Warning: the materials that may come into contact with the skin could
cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
Warning: the devices for protection against high-speed particles worn over reference ophthalmic glasses,
may result in potentially dangerous impacts for the user.
Warning: qin the PLASMA version, this device protects against high-speed particles at extreme
temperatures and is marked with the letter T immediately after the letter of the impact.
ISTRUCTIONS FOR USE: As a protective measure, the visor must be worn at all times during work and
sports activities. For adequate protection, the visor must be fitted correctly to the helmet to offer maximum
safety. The visor must be adjusted to fit the user and it must be positioned in such a way to minimise the
space for the intrusion of external agents that could damage the eyes.
FITTING THE VISOR TO THE HELMET (Img.1): remove the two plastic caps (A) located on the two sides
of the helmet. Insert, sequentially: 1) the two supports (B) right and left by pushing, 2) the visor (C), 3) the
washer (D) making it fi t correctly into the seat, 4) the screw (E) screwing it into the thread and rotating
it clockwise until the end of the stroke. (check that the washer (D) is correctly fi tted into the seat).
To remove the visor, rotate the screw (E) in an anti-clockwise direction until it can be removed completely
from the helmet.
CLEANING: remove the visor from the helmet and clean using only water and neutral pH soap and leave it
to dry naturally at room temperature. Do not, under any circumstance use chemical detergents, solvents,
petrol or abrasive powders as they are aggressive and could lower the structural resistance of the visor.
Never rub the lens when dry.
STORAGE: Store in a dry and cool place away from UV rays. When not in use, the helmet should be stored
away from direct sunlight and sources of heat and we recommend replacing the visor in its original
packaging. Do not apply adhesives, solvents, stickers or paint that do not comply with the manufacturer's
specifications. Any alteration or addition that is not provided for may impair the protective function of the
visor.
TRANSPORT: No particular instructions are necessary for its transport.
LIFE: The KASK articles and accessories made of plastic may have a maximum duration of 10 years starting
from the year of manufacture stated on the product.
However, the life of the visor depends on various factors which cause deterioration, including sudden
temperature changes, the amount of exposure to direct sunlight and the intensity of use. Inspect the visor
