• Only use original bags as there must be no creases around the edge of the container. This tight seal prevents the bag from
being suctioned up.
The container underneath the cyclone should be emptied when it is filled to about 2/3 or contains a maximum of 20 kg.
When emptying, carefully release the two fasteners, one at a time, so that dust is not stirred up unnecessarily. After lowering the
container (on DC 2800 H) or lifting the upper part of the machine (on DC 1800 H), turn on the dust extractor again so that any air
borne particles are sucked into the filter cyclone. The container can now be completely removed from the machine. Carefully
remove the entire bag from the edge of the container and seal it immediately. Then fit a new plastic bag in the container, carefully
folding the open end over the edge of the container. Ensure that the plastic bag is intact with no visible creases. Carefully put the
container back under the extractor unit. Attach the two fasteners, switch off the machine, re-attach the container and check for
any leaks.
For best results:
• When attaching the plastic bag, ensure that there is no air between the plastic bag and the container.
• Ensure that air does not enter between the container and the bag when the machine is running.

Service/Maintenance

WARNING
The manufacturer or a trained person must carry out an inspection at least once a year. Check, for example, if
the filters are damaged, the dust extractor's air tightness and the operation of the control unit, and inspect the
electrical components, seals and cables for equalization so that they are not damaged.
Filter change
The following safety precautions should generally be followed before starting maintenance:
1.
The machine must be disconnected from the power supply during cleaning and maintenance.
WARNING
Service must never take place inside the zone.
2.
To avoid the spread of dust, the machine must be vacuumed and wiped clean and the suction openings be blocked, for
example with plugs, before the machine is taken from the contaminated area.
3.
All machines must be considered as contaminated if they are removed from the hazardous zone. Appropriate measures must
be taken to prevent the spread of dust.
4.
At maintenance or repair, all contaminated objects that have not been cleaned satisfactorily must be disposed of. Such items
must be disposed of in dust-proof sacks in accordance with the regulations applicable to the disposal of waste.
5.
Clean the machine before disassembling.
6.
A room with filtered, forced ventilation is recommended.
7.
Clean the maintenance area in advance.
8.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
9.
The cyclone filter cartridge must be replaced when necessary, but at least once a year. Only use original filters, see
Consumables.
10. Motor unit: The filters in the motor housing must be replaced as part of the annual service. These parts must be replaced by
authorized staff trained by Dustcontrol. These filters are part of the explosion protection system. At high dust levels, an
inspection should take place after 4 months to determine if the filters need to be replaced more frequently.
11. Overload protection. The machine is equipped with an overheating protection. If there is insufficient air flow through the unit
(due to overload), the motor will be switched off when the temperature exceeds 55°C. In these situations, it is important to
investigate the cause of the overheating. Turn off and disconnect the power supply, and then wait for the motor to cool down
(it can take up to 30 minutes).
WARNING
Do not reuse the filter after it has been removed from the machine.
The fine filter must be changed at least once a year. The HEPA filter must be replaced after approx. 300 hours of operation. Wear
a protective mask when changing the filter. Only use original filters. Release and lift off the cover. To prevent leakage of dust,
place a plastic bag over the cyclone and remove the filter cartridge. Clean the filter plate. Fit the new filter.
