filter, larger particles of drilling dust can be flung towards
the user and the power tool can be damaged.
Do not use damaged filters (e.g. no cracks, small
u
holes, etc.). Replace any damaged filters immedi-
ately.
Never carry the power tool by the dust extraction at-
u
tachment.
Note: The guide (17) is spring-loaded. The guide can spring
forward when the button (16) for drill bit length adjustment
is pressed.
Switching On and Off
– To switch on the dust extraction attachment, press the
on/off switch (13).
– To switch off the dust extraction attachment, press the
on/off switch (13) again.
Inserting/removing the drill bit (see figure C)
– Press the button (16) for drilling depth adjustment and
pull the guide (17) all the way out.
– Release the button (16) again.
– Slide the tip of the drill bit through the dust cap (3) from
behind and then fit the bit into the drill chuck according to
the instructions of your power tool.
– Before removing the drill bit, press the button (16) again
and pull the guide (17) all the way out.
Adjusting the Guide Length (see figure D)
To ensure that dust is extracted cleanly and the depth stop is
set correctly, the guide (17) must be adjusted so that the tip
of the drill bit is flush at the front with the dust cap (1)/(3).
– Insert the required drill bit into the
tool holder of the drill chuck.
– Press the button (16) while adjust-
ing the guide (17) to match the drill
bit length.
– Release the button (16) again.
Note: To store the dust extraction attachment, press the
button (16) and pull the guide (17) all the way out. This re-
lieves the strain on the guide's spring, which increases the
service life of the spring.
Adjusting the Drilling Depth (see figure E)
The button (18) for depth stop adjustment can be used to
set the required drilling depth X.
Bosch Power Tools
– Press the button (18) and slide the button on the guide
(17) so that the distance X shown in the illustration
matches your required drilling depth.
– Release the button (18) again.
Fitting the Dust Cap and Extension (see figure F)
You will need to change the dust cap (1)/(3) depending on
which drill chuck you are using:
– Dust cap (1) for SDS plus quick-change chuck for drilling
diameters of 4–16 mm
– Dust cap (2) for SDS plus quick-change chuck for drilling
diameters of 16–26 mm
– Dust cap (3) for SDS plus fixed chuck for drilling diamet-
ers of 4–16 mm
– Dust cap (4) for SDS plus fixed chuck for drilling diamet-
ers of 16−26 mm
In addition, you must change the dust cap if its wall contact
surface shows clear signs of wear and is causing dust to es-
cape through the extraction brush during extraction.
Removing the dust cap (1)/(3):
– Press the locking button (22) and pull the dust cap up-
wards out of the holder.
Fitting the dust cap (1)/(3):
– Push the new dust cap down into the holder until the lock-
ing button audibly engages.
The extension (19) is required if you use drill bits with a total
length of 165−265 mm.
– Mount and remove the extension (19) according to the
assembly/removal of the dust cap.
Emptying the Dust Box (see figure G1–G4)
Note: Wear a dust mask when performing maintenance and
cleaning on the dust box.
Empty the dust box (23) after completing your work and as
needed, in order to ensure that the dust extraction attach-
ment continues to perform optimally. The viewing win-
dow (14) enables you to check how full the dust box is.
– Hold the power tool with the dust extraction attachment
horizontally and switch on the dust extraction attachment
for a few seconds.
This will cause residual dust to be sucked out of the ex-
traction channel into the dust box (23).
– Press both the left-hand and right-hand release but-
tons (15) and pull the dust box (23) out of the dust ex-
traction attachment.
– Shake out the dust box (23) over a suitable waste bin.
– Press both the left-hand and right-hand locking tabs (23)
inwards and pull the HEPA filter (25) out of the dust box.
– Carefully tap against the HEPA filter to empty it or brush
down the flaps of the HEPA filter using a soft brush.
Note: Do not clean the HEPA filter with water and do not
use compressed air to blow it clean.
– Put the HEPA filter (25) back in the dust box (23) after
cleaning it. Then slide the dust box into the dust extrac-
