Operation
6.1
Safety precautions for using
the appliance
• Check the appliance for completeness
and if it is not damaged. If damaged it
must be repaired by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid hazardous
situations.
• Keep the appliance and the cord out of
reach of children less than 8 years old.
• Make sure that the power cord does not
make contact with the hot plate or other
hot surfaces.
• Protect the appliance from water and
moisture.
• Do not apply or spray any moisture
on the appliance. Do not immerse the
appliance, mains cable or mains plug in
water or other liquids.
• Keep the operating controls free from
dirt and grease.
• Do not touch the appliance whilst in
use. Be aware that some parts of the
appliance may become very hot during
use.
• Never insert sharp or metal objects into
the appliance or use sharp objects to
operate the operating controls.
• An evaluation of the A‑weighted
emission sound pressure level, showed
this to be well below 70 dB.
• Wait at least one hour for a cold water
appliance to settle before using.
6.2
Coffee jug
6.2.1 Use and care
To avoid breakage and injury and to
ensure the coffee jug stays in good
condition:
• Only use the jug supplied with the
appliance. Handle the jug with caution,
as it is very fragile. Never use the jug if
the jug is bumped or show any signs of
cracks.
• Wash before using.
• Read the supplementary sheet inside
the coffee jug for the appropriate
rinsing and cleaning tips.
• Never leave an empty jug on the
warming plate otherwise the jug is
liable to crack.
• Do not boil liquids in the coffee jug.
• Never clean the coffee jug with strong
detergents, scouring pads or steel
wool.
