Preparation prior to fitting

Before attaching the door intercom and indoor station, a suitable
spot must be found (Pic. C). Then determine the cable length,
which, together with any extension necessary, may not exceed
about 70 metres.
NB:
The cabling may not be laid directly alongside mains
cabling. Keep a distance of about 10 cm to avoid interference.
A mains socket for the mains cable of the indoor station (3)
should be available within reach of the point where the indoor
station is to be fitted.
Advice:
If you are already using a 2 core doorbell system, then you may
use the two doorbell cables to make the connection, as shown
below, and you will not need to put in any further cabling. The
door-opening signal is also transmitted along the same two
cables. The door intercom is designed to be fitted within the wall
rendering. It must be fitted in an area protected form spray and
rainwater, or else appropriate shielding or covering must be
added.
