BEFORE INSTALLATION AND USE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
THE MANUFACTURER DECLINES ALL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE DUE TO NEGLIGENCE
OR FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE INSTRUCTIONS DESCRIBED IN THIS MANUAL OR IN CONDITIONS THAT DIFFER FROM
OPERATION
SPEEDMATIC SET is a compact automatic control device ( see fig.7) designed for the automation of pressure
groups with 2 pumps ( type 2010, 2110, 21110) or 3 pumps ( type 3010, 3110, 31110), with an electronic
system managed by a software responding to the rigorous requirements of efficiency and safety of the most
important builders of pumps. It includes a frequency inverter for the main pump control regulating the speed in
order to keep constant the pressure independently of the flow given, the auxiliary pumps are managed by
mean of power relay. The auxiliary pumps of types 3010, 3110 and 31110 have an alternated operating
sequence.
The system incorporates a LCD screen where the parameters configuration is very easy and intuitive. Once
the configuration parameters are introduced, the SPEEDMATIC SET manages the start-up of the different
system pumps and the frequency inverter. It assures a constant pressure and an important costs reduction
because at any time the control will feed the system with the right and necessary output, obtaining a maximum
energetic efficiency. In order to establish the ideal pressure in the installation is suitable to consider following
criteria:
Hm:
Max. water column height in m. It depends on the number of floors and it corresponds to the height
from the pump to the last floor. Every 10 m of height corresponds approximately to 1 bar (0.98 bar).
Pw:
Available minimum pressure in last floor (usually 1.5 bar).
Pc:
Pressure drop. It can be considered with a simplified criteria as 0.033 bar/m.
Prmin: Minimum resultant pressure. It is the sum of the previous pressures and it will be the starting
pressure of the pumps.
Example for a 5 floors building (15 m) with pumps placed at level 0:
Hm =15 m = 1.5 bar
The auxiliary pumps should provide a working pressure at least 1 bar higher than the Prmin, because they
should guarantee the system´s feeding in case of main pump damaged ( see EW function in chapter MAIN
CHARACTERISTICS). In the example case they should provide at least 4.5 bar.
Once has been defined the optimal pressure in the installation, the group must be sized to provide the necessary
flow using the appropriate coefficients of simultaneity. During this process the following errors are common:
l
Over-sizing the group excessively: it only operates the main pump.
l
Under-sizing the group: all the pumps are operating at full speed, without modulation.
l
The ratio FLOW/PRESSURE10% is identical to which is able to provide the main pump: in applications
with regular consumption during long periods of time - it is not the case of a block of houses where the
consumption is oscillating -- we find an equilibrium where the main pump by itself cannot satisfy the flow
and pressure exigencies, but, when starting the auxiliary pump, the main pump decreases its speed
below the recommendable limit, in consequence the system has constant operating rotations. In
systems of oscillating consumptions this equilibrium point does not suppose any problem, but in regular
consumptions during long periods of time, this phenomenon must be avoided because the lifespan of the
pumps will fall.
CLASSIFICATION AND TYPE
According to EN-60730-1 the SPEEDMATIC SET is a device of independent assembly, type 1B with
software of class A.

THOSE INDICATED ON THE DEVICE.
Pw = 1,5 bar
Pc=15 x 0,033 bar = 0,5 bar
(2 pumps)
(3 pumps)
Prmin = 1,5 + 1,5 + 0,5 = 3,5 bar
