•
Contents Indicator — The amount of liquid oxygen contained in
the unit is measured by this internal weight scale mechanism.
Liquid oxygen contents is indicated by unsnapping the plastic
connector and suspending the unit from the end of the carrying
strap that is closest to the indicator.
•
Fill Connector — This connector, when coupled to a mating
connector on a Companion stationary unit, provides a means for
transferring liquid oxygen from the stationary unit to the
Companion 500/550.
•
Carrying Strap — This is an adjustable strap that enables the user
to wear the unit over the shoulder. The plastic connector in the
carrying strap may be engaged to create a short carrying handle.
The strap is also used to measure the contents of the Companion
500/550 (see Contents Indicator).
C550 Portable Unit Components ONLY:
•
Continuous / Demand Flow Switch — This toggle switch sets the
oxygen delivery mode of the unit for either continuous flow or
flow only during the inspiratory part of each breath.
•
Inspiration Sensor Connector — The user's inspiratory effort is
sensed through this connector. Either tube of the dual-lumen
cannula is connected here.
•
Dual-Lumen Cannula — This is a special cannula with two
connecting tubes for use with the Companion 550. One cannula
tube is connected to the unit's oxygen outlet connector and routes
oxygen flow to the user. The second tube is connected to the unit's
inspiration sensor connector and routes the user's inspiratory
signal to the unit. The cannula tubes are interchangeable.
