SIM
This message can indicate one of the following situations:
- If it appears straight away on start up it indicates that the PIN code in the SIM is corrupt;
- The SIM is not present in the modem or hasn't been detected by the modem. Remove and reposition
the SIM in its slot.
- If it appears after an attempt to initialise the modem it indicates that the PIN code in the SIM is incorrect.
Access the menu function an reinsert the PIN code, then switch off and restart the receiver. If the problem
persists contact the after sales service.
ERR

GENERAL REMARKS
When the receiver PIN and CAR codes are cancelled they are reset to the default values. We advise you
to always use personalised PIN and CAR codes.
All data and operating functions are memorised in the user code memory and in the SIM card.
In case of failure this will allow the installation to be reset by transferring the user code memory and SIM
into a new device.
• The performance of the GSM device depends on the quality of the telephone network and the position
in which it is installed.
Check the level and quality of the signal when installing the device.
• The SIM used must allow data transfer.
• Before inserting the SIM into its housing in the modem insert the PIN number to unblock the receiver.
• For the GSM connection the receiver requires caller authentication within a maximum of 30 seconds
after which the call will be cancelled.
• During a data connection all receiver functions are temporarily halted and [RMT] will appear on the
display.
• Data connection is only available if the receiver is in standby awaiting a command with [GSM] on the
display.
• To unblock a SIM card that is requesting PUK code or to navigate through the address book container
within you must use an external telephone.
• The data connection function can only be used with PGM449SW software versions "V4.10" or later.
• The receiver PIN can be modified via the PGM449SW software.
• Telephone numbers may have only one entry in the address book and all duplicates will be ignored.
• The modem will ignore all incoming calls without a declared telephone number.
• When inactive the system will periodically check the status of the modem.
The control cycle will be repeated round about every thirty seconds, and during the brief control
the acronym [tst] will appear on the display. After 24 hours of inactivity the modem will be restarted
automatically.
• Should the CAR code be incorrect you will not be able to access the receiver through the PGM449SW
software and you will have to cancel the memory content to reset the code by resetting the receiver
parameters to the factory defaults.
• The USB connection requires a "mini-B" cable connection.
