2.8 - SETTING THE SENDING OF ALERT
EMAILS
Your recorder can notify you by email if movement is
detected or for other events.
You must have 2 email addresses: the sender
address, which will be used by the device to send
the alerts, and the receiver address to which the
alerts will be sent. The device uses the user name
and password of the sender address to connect
and send the email. Configuration depends on the
chosen email provider's settings.
Note: the 2 addresses can be the same (you will
simply be sending an email to yourself).
www.gmail.com example:
sender-address@gmail.com sends the alerts,
addressee@gmail.com receives the alerts. Both
addresses need to have been created beforehand.
To set email sending, go to "Paramètre"
(Settings)/"Réseau" (Network)/"Email":

1 Select "Activer" (Enable) to activate email

2 Connection security, varies according to the
email provider. In our www.gmail.com example,
select "Activer" (Enable).
3 Port SMTP (SMTP port): varies according to
the email provider for the sender address. In
our gmail example: 465

our gmail example: smtp.gmail.com. Click
"shift" on the on-screen keyboard for "@".

6 Minimum time period between 2 consecutive
alerts, set to your preferences. You will
not receive multiple emails within a certain
time period.
7 Password that corresponds to the email
sender address. In our gmail example, this
is the password requested when logging into
the inbox at www.gmail.com
8 Email address that receives the alerts sent
by your device. See our example: recipient@
gmail.com. Once the addresses are entered,
a "Email essai" (Test email) button appears: if
you want, click it to send a test email.
9 Emails are sent 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week by default. This button lets you set the
time at which email sending is authorised.
Here you can set the time slots during which
no emails are to be sent.
You can set the time slots independently for
motion detection (in green) and other events
(in red: camera connection is lost, camera is
covered, etc.)
11 Click "Sauver" (Save) after making
modifications to save your settings
Important notes:
• In the "Paramètre" (Settings)/"Entrée filaire"
(Wired input)/ "Mouvement" (Movement) menu,
don't forget to tick the Email box so that your
recorder can alert you by email when movement
is detected (see previous paragraph).
• Some email providers will ask for confirmation
before allowing your device to use their service
(as with www.gmail.com in our example). See the
sender address inbox for more details.
