Maintenance
The Belle Group 'BGP' Pneumatic Vibrating Pokers are designed to give many years of trouble free operation. It is recommended that
an approved Belle Group dealer carries out all major maintenance and repairs. Always use genuine Belle Group replacement parts, the
use of spurious parts may void your warranty.
The correct oil type for use in the inline oiler is : 20/30SAE non detergent.
Periodic Maintenance.
1. Before carrying out any maintenance work on the poker, always ensure that you disconnect the poker from the compressor
2. It is suggested that the Pneumatic poker be overhauled at set regular intervals to ensure trouble free operation.
Dismantling & Re-assembly Instructions (Refer to the replacement parts list supplied with this manual).
1) Replacement of Vane and Rotor
Replacement of vane, front closure plate (BGP 67-107 only) or rotor. Hold Housing (4) in a vice and unscrew nosepiece (1) (right
handed thread), Remove from the vice and by angling downwards, thefront closure plate and rotor are free to fall out, ensure not
to drop or damage the rotor. The parts should be cleaned and examined. If the inside of the nose piece or rotor show signs of
excessive wear (refer to 4), they should be replaced. Vanes should be a snug sliding fi t in the rotor and fi tted so that the vane cut
outs face away from the milled slot in the rotor.
Re-assembly is the opposite of the above but the following should be observed.
)
Lightly oil the running faces of the rotor and the inside of the nosepiece
b) Insert the rotor so that the exhaust holes are to the rear.
c) Fit a new 'O' ring or fi bre washer (2) to the nosepiece (1).
2) Removal of Rear Body
Removal of rear body, rear closure plate and hoses. Cut hose clip (16), pull off exhaust hose (15) from exhaust body (17). Unscrew
exhaust body (17) from handle (30,39). Pull out handle to expose hose clip (10). Cut hose clip (10) to release inlet hose (11) from
handle. Hold housing (4) in a vice and unscrew rear body (12) (left handed thread) removing complete with exhaust hose (15). If the
hose is to be replaced then unscrew hose sleeve (13), pull out hose (15) from rear body (12) and remove hose protection spring
(14) (except 35 & 45mm). Using inlet hose (11), pull out rear closure plate (7), locking ring (8) and inlet hose connector (9). All parts
should be cleaned and the rear closure plate examined for signs of wear (refer to 4).
Re-assembly of rear body, rear closure plate and hoses.
The rear closure plate, inlet hose fi tting and inlet hose should be inserted into the housing as an assembly, ensuring that the plate
is kept square to the housing and pushed onto the housing shoulder. Slide a new locking ring (8) over the inlet hose and locate it
behind the rear closure plate. If necessary, fi t the exhaust hose into the rear body (12), insert the hose protection spring (14)
(except 35 & 45mm) and clamp the clamp with the hose sleeve (13). The assembly can then be screwed onto the housing
ensuring that a new 'O' ring or fi bre washer is fi tted. Adjust the hose lengths so that the inlet hose protrudes approximately 65mm
from the exhaust hose. Slide new clips (10) and (16) into the respective hoses. Pass the inlet hose (11) through the exhaust body
(17) and fi t onto the inlet hose connector (18) using hose clips (10). Screw the exhaust bosy (17) onto the control handle. Push the
exhaust hose (15) onto the exhaust body (17) and fi t the hose clip (16).
3) Wear Criterior.
The optimum condition of the vibrator turbine assembly to produce maximum speed and therefore power is determined by the total
air gap between the closure plates and the rotor. Ideally this should be between 0.06mm and 0.13mm. A gap greater then 0.20mm
greatly impairs the performance of the poker.
