12 REPLACING CANISTER ASSEMBLY
In the event of the canister needing to be replaced follow the procedure below to minimize waste
and to keep the work area clean.
1)
Locate the Canister which requires replacement at the front of the machine and lock the
Carousel Index Lever.
2)
Dispense all the colorant from the Canister by repeating maximum dispenses into a clean
container, taking into account this colorant will be later added to the new canister.
3)
Carefully remove the Pump Cylinder assembly, firstly by removing the M4 Sems Nut and Bolt
found at the back of the of the End Cap Housing. Next undo the Pump Nut which connects the
Pump Assembly to the Valve Housing using an 32mm Spanner.
Some colorant may be present however so be careful not to splash when removing
the parts.

Place the Pump Assembly in a clean area free from debris and any particles which may
contaminate or damage.
5)
Remove the Canister from the Turntable by removing the front screw using a 10mm spanner
or Nut Driver, and loosening the back two screws. The canister should rotate in a clockwise
direction and lift out.
6)
To mount the new canister locate the Agitation Rod of the Canister into the plastic bushing of
the Agitator Plate, next locate the two screws (36 - Figure 3-3) found in the base of the
Canister Assembly in the slots in the Turntable and turn slowly in an anticlockwise direction.
7)
Fasten the two screws (36 - Figure 3-3) x 2 using a 10mm nut driver or 10mm spanner.
8)
Insert a third screw (36) x 1 (Figure 3-3) into the front of the Canister to hold it in place
securely and fasten in as above.
9)
Turn the Agitation selector switch to manual (position 1) (chapter 11) to confirm Canister is
agitating as expected, with the paddle inside the canister turning freely.
10) On approval, turn off the Agitation selector switch (position 0) (chapter 11) and unlock the
Carousel Index Lever and rotate clockwise to the next position.
11) Mount the Pump Assembly removed from the old canister by placing on top of the valve
housing and fastening the Pump Nut.
12) Next insert the M4 Sems screw and fasten with the M4 Nylock Nut.
13) Work the Pump Piston and Canister Handle to ensure in working order.
14) Fill the canister with the colorant removed from the reject Canister, ensuring the colorant has
not been contaminated.
Never place contaminated colorant into Canister as this will only lead to Valve
becoming blocked.
15) Prime the Canister as per instructions on chapter 4.
