SETUP
1 The CROSS-CUT 15 should be placed on a flat level surface. Depending
on the type of floor surface where the shredder is to be placed, casters
have been included and can be installed easily. It's recommended that
the casters are only being used if the shredder is placed on a hard,
smooth surface.
2 To install the casters, carefully lay the shredder on its back. Place the
long post of each caster inside the hole located in each corner on the
bottom of the shredder. Push each caster into place until you hear or
feel it snap and lock in place. Place the shredder in an upright posi-
tion. Make sure that the shredder stands evenly and that all 4 casters
fit squarely on the floor. Two casters (=wheels) with brake should be
installed on the front side.
3 Make sure that the wastebasket is completely inserted into the shredder
cabinet and that it fits flush with the shredder cabinet.
4 Plug the power cord into any standard 220~240-volt AC outlet.
5 Press the POWER button, the ready LED should light up. You are now
ready to start shredding.
OPERATing THE SHREDDER
When the electrical cord is plugged in, POWER button is pressed and the
shredder wastebasket is properly in place, the ready LED will light up . This
means the shredder is now ready to operate. When the paper is inserted
into the feed opening, the shredding process will start automatically and
stop when the paper has completed its travel through the feed opening.
The FWD, REV and POWER button are located on the top of the shredder.
Their purposes are:
1 When press POWER button, the ready LED light up. The shredding
process will start when paper is inserted into the feed opening and will
continue until it has completely passed through the feed opening.
2 The REV function is used to assist in the removal of a paper jam. It
reverses the shredding process prior to a completed forward cycle.
When overload LED light up, press REV button and tear off the exceeding
paper.
3. The overload LED will light up when exceeding paper inserted.
4. The overheat LED will light up when shredder is used for a prolonged
period of time without stop.
5. The Power Button is used to terminate the AC power to the shredder. It is
recommended to turn the shredder off when the shredder is not being
used for a prolonged period of time.
6 If the ready LED does not light up, make sure that the plug is plugged
in, the basket is inserted correctly and that the Power button is pressed.

SiTUATiOnS
The shredder will either automatically reverse the paper out of the
shredder throat or power may terminate automatically in case of the
following abnormal situations:
1 Operating the shredder at the maximum 15-sheet capacity
continuously for a prolonged period of time, e.g. More than 2 minutes
without stopping.
2 Exceeding the shredding capacity, e.g. Inserting more than 15 sheets of
standard 80 g A4 paper at one pass, or if the paper is not fed squarely
into the feed opening.
2
Both abnormal operations may result in the activation of the automatic
reversal of the paper or the thermal motor overload protection, which
terminates the power to the shredder.
A minor paper jam may cause the paper to feed in the opposite direction
and be ejected from the feed opening.
A major paper jam could cause the thermal motor overload protection to
terminate the AC power to the motor and turn on the Overload light.
Never allow the shredder to remain in a jammed condition with the AC
power turned on.If this occurs you should:
in CASE OF A minOR PAPER jAm

away from the feed opening to prevent injury.

result into serious injuries.
5 Continuous shredding of computer paper should not exceed 2 minutes.
If continuous use is required at the maximum sheet capacity (15 sheets),
it is recommended that shredding time should be 2 minutes on and 40
minutes off to allow a proper cooling of the motor.
6 Always turn off or unplug the shredder prior to moving, cleaning or
emptying the wastebasket.
7 Empty the wastebasket frequently to avoid paper jams caused by
shredding material being pulled back into the cutter assembly.
8 Never allow children to shred or play with paper shredders. Serious
injury could occur!
