F. Operation.
The 300PBX-SB allows remote access to loop start C.O. lines, analog PABX stations or any other
600 ohm audio device. This can be very useful for many applications including using a local line
to access an inexpensive WATS line (line extending), utilizing your PABX/KSU features (DISA),
or remote access to paging systems.
The 300PBX-SB can be set up with two levels of access, a call timer and basic toll restriction.
While in normal operation, touch tone commands are utilized for hookswitch flashes, momentary
disconnects and hang-ups. All programming is stored in non-volatile memory.
The 300PBX-SB will answer, provide an alert tone (if enabled), and wait 20 seconds for an access
code to be entered. For applications where immediate activation of the LINE OUT relay is
required, do not program any access codes. If your application requires security, program either
the priority 1 or priority 2 access code. One of these access codes must be entered prior to
activating the line out relay. While both levels provide authorized access, it is important to note
that priority 2 is used in conjunction with the PABX number to prevent outside line access.
Callers that attempt to access an outside line while priority 2 security is enabled, will be
disconnected.
Warning
: Priority 2 restriction WILL affect 911, 1-800 and 1-888 operation.
When the LINE OUT relay has been actuated, several other commands can be used. For a
500ms hookswitch flash on the LINE OUT port, dial #1. To create a 2 second disconnect on the
LINE OUT port for making a new call, dial #2. To disconnect the 300PBX-SB, dial #7. The
300PBX-SB will also disconnect when a CPC break occurs on the LINE IN port or after the call
timer has expired. When disconnecting, both LINE IN and LINE OUT relays are opened.
