FCC REGULATIONS.
This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. In
addition to other relevant information, the label on this device
provides the FCC Registration Number and Ringer Equivalence

B.
GENERAL.
The Federal Model 300RC is a two way telephone control
unit. It answers a phone line, accepts a user access code, then
allows remote control of ten SPDT relays and remote monitoring of
ten external switch contacts or logic levels. The 300RC is simple to
understand, simple to install, secure, and effective.
The input connection to the Model 300RC is made by means
of a 6 position modular cable. The Model 300RC is designed to be
connected to a dedicated telephone station line in place of a
telephone instrument.
The ten control relays are magnetic latching relays. On power
loss and restoration, the relays can retain their prior states or
return to the de-activation state. Each relay can be set, cleared or
activated momentarily (for the duration of the push-button
actuation on the calling phone). The relay interlock mode of
operation allows easy use as a remote-controlled audio selector.
The 300RC has switch selectable four digit access code (can be
disabled if desired) for security. The control provides easily
distinguishable tones to indicate the high-low or open-closed status
of the ten external inputs. The Model 300RC has several status
lights to indicate ringing signal, power, DTMF tone detection, line-
connected status, and access granted.
The entire unit is housed in a compact box only 9.43" x 1.13" x
2.9", which may be mounted to a wall or to a blank rack panel
using the mounting holes provided.
C.
UNPACKING.
The unit should be removed carefully from the carton and
inspected for any possible damage in transit. If there is any
evidence of damage which might have occurred in shipment,
immediately notify your supplier or the transportation company
which delivered it. Claims for damage sustained in transit must be
made upon the carrier. Save all packing material for the claim
agent who will supply you with the proper forms and give you the
necessary instructions for filling out a claim.
