using the taD-D1000MK2 as a D/a converter

With disc playback stopped, press the DAC mODE button on the main unit's front-panel (or remote control unit).
'
Each time the button is pressed, the input mode will be switched as follows:
U1 or U2 (USB input)
' The sampling rate is displayed whenever an input signal is received. When no input signal is detected, the display will show
[ - - - ].
' The sampling rate display is in units of kHz; fractional decimal points are omitted.
' In the case of DSD signals, [ dSd ] is displayed for 2.8 MHz modulation, and [ dSd2 ] is displayed for 5.6 MHz modulation.
' With D1, D2 or D3 inputs, supported sampling rates include 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz, and 192 kHz.
With D4 inputs, supported sampling rates include 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz.
adjusting the sound volume
adjusting the balanced/unbalanced line output level
The line output is set to 30 (default value) by factory default.
' Adjust the volume using the VOL(−/+) button on the unit or VOLUME(+/−) button in the center of the
remote control.
When the volume is adjusted, the display switches from the time display or the sampling frequency display to the line
output volume display.
note
When using the volume function and connecting directly to a power amplifier (without using a pre-amplifier), be sure to make
the connection only after setting the volume to 0 (zero). If the connection is made with the volume set to its default value
(maximum), the speakers or your hearing may be damaged.
Fixing the line output level to the maximum value
1.
Press the VOL (+) button on the display of the unit until the output value reaches 78 (maximum value).
2.
While it is set to the maximum value, hold down the VOL (+) button.
The line output level is fixed to the maximum value, and the VOL (−/+) button on the unit and VOLUME (+/−) button in the
center of the remote control are disabled.
The display also switches from the line output volume display to the time display or the sampling frequency display.

usB connections (default settings)

By using a USB cable to connect this unit to a computer, the unit can be used to play music files stored on the computer
(depending on the type of media stored on the computer).
1.
Press the DAC mODE button on the main unit or remote control unit, then select U1 input.
2.
Turn on power to the computer.
3.
Use a USB cable to connect the unit to the computer; the proper driver will automatically be installed.
note
' U1 supports USB AudioClass 1.0.
' Supported sampling rates include 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz.
' Supports USB 2.0 High-speed.
' Functionality has been confirmed with Windows 8 (64 bit), Widows 7, Windows Vista (32 bit), Mac OS 10.8, Mac OS 10.7,
Mac OS 10.6. Functionality has not been confirmed for other operating systems and versions.
' To play music with high sampling rates (96 kHz/24 bit, 88.2 kHz/24 bit, etc.), it may be necessary to adjust software settings
on your computer. For details, consult the specifications for the playback software used on your computer.

usB 2 (audioclass 2.0)

' In addition to the USB default mode, the USB 2 (AudioClass 2.0 DoP) mode, supporting DoP format with 176.4 kHz, 192
kHz, 352.8 kHz, 384 kHz, and DSD signal transmission may be used.
' When using a Windows terminal device, PCM data is transmitted up to 192 kHz sampling, and DSD data up to 2.8 MHz
sampling (as of August, 2015).
note
' Functionality has been confirmed with Windows 8 (64 bit), Widows 7, Windows Vista (32 bit), Mac OS 10.8, Mac OS 10.7,
