' When using a Mac computer, set the unit's input to U2, then use a USB cable to connect the unit to a computer; the
proper driver will then be automatically installed.

When using a Windows terminal device, consult the TAD website (http://tad-labs.com) and download the proper driver.
Consult the TAD website for driver installation instructions.
• Manual driver installation is unnecessary for Mac users. The driver will be installed automatically when the unit is
connected to a computer via USB cable.
• To make use of internet connections, users must conclude a contract with an internet service provider and pay
whatever fees are required.
2.
With the unit in standby mode, press the  power button while holding the main unit's DAC mODE button depressed.
The USB input display will change from [ U1 ] to [ U2 ].

Turn on power to the computer.
4.
With the unit connected to the computer via USB cable, change the unit's input to U2.
5.
To cancel the current mode, switch the unit to standby mode, then press the  power button while holding the main
unit's DAC mODE button depressed.
The current mode can also be canceled by using ALL RESET.
CAUTION
' If a Windows terminal device is used without the unit driver installed, or if a Mac OS version (10.5, etc.) is used without
support for the USB 2 mode, do not set the unit for USB 2 mode and connect the unit to the computer, since the computer
may lock up.
' When this unit is used in CD/SACD mode, if the unit is connected to a computer via USB cable, the USB connection will
be interrupted. Settings on the computer may be changed automatically, so when not actually using a USB input, the USB
cable should be disconnected from the unit.

Digital output with USB input
' When the input is a DSD signal, the signal will be converted to PCM 88.2 kHz and output.
' When the input signal has a sampling rate of 384 kHz or 354.8 kHz, the signal will be output after being converted to 192
kHz and 176.4 kHz respectively.
' Signals with other sampling rates will be output at the same rates as input.

When playing DSD signals (from SACD and USB inputs) if the audible output is excessively loud and distorted, the output
level can be suppressed to improve listening quality. At the time of purchase, the DSD modulation rate is factory preset to 50
% (high output level).
While holding the main unit's front-panel g button depressed, press the VOL+ button.

Each time the button is pressed, the DSD modulation rate alternates between 50 % (high output level) and 100 % (low
output level).
note
' This setting can be made when the SACD indicator is lighted and USB input has been selected.

eco (power saving) mode

In this mode, if no playback occurs or no input signal is detected for 30 minutes, the unit will automatically enter the standby
mode.
U.S. model : ECO OFF (factory default setting)
European model: ECO ON (factory default setting)

With the unit in standby mode, hold the main unit's  button depressed and then press the  power button. When this
is done, the ECO ON mode will be enabled.
The display will then show the [ ECO ON ] message.
2.
To switch back to the ECO OFF mode, first place the unit in standby mode; while holding the main unit's  button
depressed, press the  power button. When this is done, the ECO OFF mode (the unit will not automatically enter the
standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity) will be enabled.
The display will then show the [ ECO OFF ] message.

aLL reset

To return all settings to their factory defaults.
The default USB mode is AudioClass 1.0.
European model only: this setting sets the ECO (power saving) mode to ECO OFF.
With the unit in standby mode, press the  power button while holding the g button depressed.
