BATTERIES
SETTING UP BY CODE ENTRY
Before you set up the Universal Remote Control to operate your equipment, look
up the first code for your equipment in the brands list on page 43.
1. Press a device button to select the device you want to operate.
2. Press and hold 1 and 3 at the same time for 3 seconds.
– The indicator LED lights up.
3. Enter the 4-digit code for your brand with the numerical keys.
– The indicator LED blinks twice to indicate successful set-up.
– Press buttons on the remote to check that the code works on your equipment.
If it does, write down this code inside the remote's battery lid.
– If the equipment does not respond correctly, try the next code from the code
list until the equipment works properly.
– If none of the listed codes work, go to Chapter SETTING UP BY
AUTOSEARCH
– Repeat steps 1 to 3 for every piece of equipment you want to operate.
SETTING UP BY AUTOSEARCH
Before you start, make sure the equipment is ready to receive infra-red signals.
The equipment must be switched on, there should be no obstacles between you
and the equipment, and you should be right in front of the equipment. Before
setting up a VCR, insert a tape and start Playback.
1. Press a device button to select the device.
2. Press and hold 1 and 3 at the same time for 3 seconds.
– The indicator LED lights up.
3. Press Power y to start the search.
– Every time the LED lights, another code is tested. When the right code for
your device is found, the equipment switches off, or the VCR stops
playing. Immediately proceed with step 4.
4. Press Power y twice to lock the code.
– The indicator LED blinks twice to indicate successful set-up.
– Turn on the equipment again and press the buttons on the Universal
Remote Control to see if they are working as expected. Some codes
are quite similar.
If your equipment does not respond correctly, repeat steps 1 to 4 to
find a better code.
– Maximum search time is 8 minutes for TV, 4 minutes for VCR and 5
minutes for SAT.

Insert the batteries as indicated in the battery
compartment (rear of remote). Only use batteries of type
R03, UM4 or AAA. Replace the batteries when required, or
at least once a year.
