Replace components
Faceseal and inner mask: replace every 5 years,
regardless of condition.
Valve flaps, filter gasket and O-rings: replace
annually, regardless of condition.
MAINTENANCE
Charging the Battery
The charger is for indoor use only.
Optimum performance with new battery packs is
achieved only after they have completed three
charge-cycles.
Plug the charger into a suitable mains supply. Plug
the charging lead into the battery socket.

Replacing the Blower
The blower is available as a spare part. The clip can
be replaced if broken.
1.
Press the clip to release the blower.
2.
Position the nail of the new blower in the slot
on the front port, and press the clip into place.
Replacing the Visor
1.
Remove the blower + inner mask and filter.
2.
Release the head harness (top strap).
3.
Pry open both ends of the grey screw cover (it
is not supposed to be detached).
4.
Remove the screws from below the screw
cover and remove the front cover. Remove the front
port by pressing with fingers to the back of the visor.
5.
Unscrew the two visor clamp screws, remove
the visor clamps and the visor. Separate the visor
from the faceseal.
6.
Inspect O-ring (around the front port) and
replace if necessary. Lubricate new O-ring with
Carbaflo Grease.
7.
Position the front port in the new visor,
ensuring that the hook (4a) engages outside the
visor. Attach
the front cover with screws, and press the screw
cover back in place.
8.
Fit the tab at the top of the visor through the
slot at the top of the faceseal and feed the visor into
the groove in the faceseal.
9.
Fit the visor clamps and secure with screws
and nuts.
10. Fit head harness.

Replacing the Inner Mask
1.
Remove the blower + inner mask.
2.
Separate the blower from the inner mask.
3.
Replace the inner mask. Gently feed the rim of
the new inner mask into the groove in the blower
body.
4.
Re-position the blower + inner mask.
Replacing the Inhalation Valve Flap
1.
Remove the blower + inner mask.
2.
Replace the valve flaps. Check that the flaps
move freely and lie flat on the inner mask.
3.
Attach the blower + inner mask.
Replacing the Exhalation Valve Flap
1.
Grab the flap frame with pliers from the inside of
the mask. Replace the flap.
2.
Press the flap frame in place.
STORAGE
When not in use, the equipment should be stored in
a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight
and heat, between -10º C and +30º C, at a humidity
of less than 75% RH.
DISPOSAL
Blower, battery and cable assembly – See page 10.
Mask – Masks (without filters) are coarse waste. A
very contaminated mask as well as used filters are
special refuse and shall be disposed of according to
the filtered substances (gases or particles).
Filter – Filters must be disposed of in accordance
with local waste treatment regulations. Filters P and
A constitute normal waste (can be, for example,
incinerated). But they are considered hazardous
waste if hazardous substances have been filtered
through them.
