IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BATTERY CHARGER AND BATTERY PACK
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS - This
manual contains important safety and operating
instructions for battery charger Model 100138.
2. Before using battery charger, read all
instructions and cautionary markings on
battery charger, battery, and product using
battery.
3. To reduce risk of injury,

Corporation 12 volt rechargeable batteries.
Other types of batteries may burst causing
personal injury and damage.
4. Avoid dangerous environments. Do not
use charger in rain, snow, damp or wet
locations. Do not use battery pack or charger in
the presence of explosive atmospheres
(gaseous fumes, dust or flammable materials)
because sparks may be generated when
inserting or removing battery pack, possibly
causing a fire.

100109 in this charger. Use of an attachment
not recommended or sold by the battery charger
manufacturer is hazardous and may result in a
risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons.
6. This charger is equipped with a polarized
plug (one blade is wider than the other.)
This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install a
polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in
any way.
7. Maintain charger cord. When unplugging
charger, pull plug rather than cord to reduce the
risk of damage to the electrical plug and cord.
Never carry charger by its cord. Make sure
cord will not be stepped on, tripped over or
subjected to damage or stress. Do not use
charger with damaged cord or plug. Have
damaged cord replaced immediately with
identical replacement parts.
8. Do not use an extension cord unless it is
absolutely necessary. Using the wrong,
damaged or improperly wired extension cord
could result in the risk of fire and electric shock.
If an extension cord must be used, plug the
charger into a properly wired 16 gauge or larger
extension cord that is in good electrical

enough for AC ampere rating of charger as
specified in the following table.
9. Do not use charger with damaged cord or
plug.
Have a damaged cord replaced
immediately with identical replacement parts.

since special tools are required to replace it.

10. Do not use charger or battery pack if it
has received a sharp blow, been dropped or
damaged in any way. Do not disassemble.
Incorrect assembly may result in the risk of
electric shock, fire or exposure to battery fluids.
If it is damaged, take it to a Roto Zip Tool
Corporation service facility.
11. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
always unplug charger before cleaning or
maintenance. Turning off controls will not
reduce this risk. Use a Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) to reduce shock hazards.
12. The charger is not intended for young
children or infirm persons without
supervision. Young children should be
supervised so that they do not play with the
charger.
