3. Remove the Blade (3) through the Base Blade Slot (28). It may help to set the maximum
depth with the Depth Locking Knob (16) then press the Plunge Release (13) and push
down against the base so more of the blade is exposed so it can be easily removed
4. Fit the required blade through the Base Blade Slot, making sure the direction indicator on
the face of the blade is in the same direction as the Direction Indicator (10)
5. Re-fit the Blade Flange, Blade Washer and Blade Securing Bolt. Press in the Spindle
Lock Button and tighten using the Hex Key (29)
6. Ensure the blade is secure before use
Setting depth adjustment
• Alter the depth of the cut by loosening the Depth Locking Knob (16). The Base Plate (8) is
now free to adjust to the required depth when the Plunge Release (13) is pressed

• Adjust the Base Plate to the required depth using the Depth Scale (15) or a ruler and
retighten the Depth Locking Knob at the base so it cannot exceed that depth
• When set correctly, the blade teeth should project approximately 3mm from the underside
of the material being cut
Fitting track
• The saw Track Channel (18) fits over the Saw Base Channel (24) of the track. Set the
Track Tension Adjusters (17) to the minimum tensions setting before placing the saw onto
the track
• Use the Track Tension Adjusters to control movement resistance of the saw along the
track. Set them to equal tension at the maximum level that allows smooth movement
along the track. This will reduce or eliminate sideways movement for more precise cuts
and improve safety
• The track features two Low Friction Strips (25) to allow smooth movement of the saw
along the track. The underside has two Friction Strips (27) which helps prevent the track
from moving on many workpiece surfaces. Where possible always use the supplied
Clamps (30) to secure the track in addition to these Friction Strips
Preparing the track
• Before first use it is necessary to trim the Sacrificial Strip (26) so the saw blade cuts
without a gap against the side of the track
1. Fit a suitable blade with a fine cut suitable for cleanly cutting the strip
2. Use the Track Tension Adjusters (17) to control movement resistance of the saw along
the track. Set them to equal tension at the maximum level that allows smooth movement
along the track. This will reduce or eliminate sideways movement for a cleaner Sacrificial
Strip cut
3. Secure the track to a suitable piece of scrap timber
4. Set the saw to a minimal depth position
5. Perform a cut along the full length of the track. This will trim the Sacrificial Strip to the
exact size required for the saw
6. Dispose of the waste Sacrificial Strip
Operation
• Before using the saw, practise on scrap material. The settings of the machine are crucial
to achieving a good quality finish, and your work could easily be damaged by using an
incorrect setting
Handling your track saw
• Always hold the saw securely, with both hands, by the handles provided
• Always allow the blade to come to a complete stop before placing the machine down
• Always unplug the machine if it is to be left unattended
• Always make sure that work will not move whilst being cut. Use clamps where appropriate
Making a cut
• This tool is intended for horizontal operation only
• For dense materials work slowly and cut in multiple depth stages if necessary to reduce
the load on the motor, i.e. split a 25mm depth cut into two cuts of 12.5mm, first to the
depth of 12.5mm and the second to the depth of 25mm
• Ensure the correct blade is fitted for the material being cut
• Check the workpiece and track are properly supported and secured so that movement
cannot occur whilst the saw is in operation
• Always hold the machine with both hands using the front and rear handles
• Always push the saw forwards. NEVER pull the saw backwards towards you
• Wear all safety equipment required to use this tool. See 'Safety'
1. Set the saw to the required depth
2. Hold the saw firmly with both hands and press in the Safety Lock Off (12) then squeeze
the On/Off Trigger (11)
3. Allow the blade to reach full speed, then depress the Plunge Release (13) and plunge the
blade to your set depth
4. Push the saw forward along the track to engage the blade with the workpiece and start
the cut
Note: For plunge (pocket) cuts do not press the Plunge Release and lower the blade until the
blade is over the required start of the cut on the workpiece. When performing such internal
cuts rather than starting at an edge the blade must enter the workpiece more slowly and it is
more important that the saw is held more securely.
5. Maintain a consistent feed rate - too fast may put excessive strain on the motor, while too
slow may burnish your workpiece. Avoid any sudden movements of the saw
6. After completing the cut, release the On/Off Trigger and allow the spring loaded plunge
mechanism to return the blade fully into the Lower Guard (9). Allow the blade to come to a
complete stop before removing the saw from the track

Maintenance
WARNING: Ensure that the tool is switched off and the plug is removed from the power point
before making any adjustments or carrying out maintenance procedures.
General inspection
• Regularly check all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised GMC service centre.
Lubrication
• Lubricate all moving parts with a suitable lubricant spray, at regular intervals
