Installation Instructions – E4 Series Elements
Adjustable Accent Elements: E4AA Series, E4PIN
Series, E4RPIN Series
For installations with module MA4xx horizontal and vertical
aiming adjustments must be completed and locked prior to
inserting the element. To tilt mechanism insert screwdriver
through access hole in adjustment mechanism plate and into
locking screw (Figure 10.). Loosen locking screw by rotating
counter clockwise. Pivot screwdriver to achieve desired beam
angle (Figure 11.) and tighten screw. To rotate mechanism,
loosen clamping screw (Figure 12.). Insert screwdriver into
rotation tab and rotate assembly to desired position. Retighten
clamping screw.
Pin Hole Reflector Cone: E4PIN Series and E4RPIN
Series
Elements are supplied with two reflector cones and are
shipped with the angle cut cone attached. To replace angle
cut cone with the enclosed down light cone, remove clips
(Figure 13.), replace with down light cone (Figure 14.), and
reinstall clip (Figure 15.). The E4PIN element has a removable
black oculus that allows a wider beam spread if desired.
The oculus can be removed by following the instructions for
replacing the cone as described above.
Wall Wash Elements for MR16 lamps: E4LWW and
E4RLWW
For installations with module MV4MR and E4LWW or
E4RLWW elements, the correct aiming adjustment must be
completed and locked prior to inserting the element. Change
to the correct aiming adjustment by pulling to release the
spring-loaded locking pin, and tilt the mechanism to the aiming
adjustment corresponding to the element to be used, than
lock the aiming adjustment in the desired position. Ensure
the trim is installed in the correct position for the E4LWW
(Figure 16.) and E4RLWW (Figure 17.).
Painting Metal Trim Ring:
For elements with metal trim rings, the trim ring may be
removed and painting to match ceiling color in the field:
1.
Remove clips using a small screw driver for leverage.
2.
Remove the metal trim ring from element.
3.
Clean and prepare surface for painting.
4.
Paint as desired.
Paint must be rated for 90°C. Contact reputable paint

5.
After paint has thoroughly dried reassemble in reverse
order.
Special Instructions and Applications
Lamping NNote: IC and Non-IC platform lamp wattage
ratings may be different. Use only lamp listed on the
element label specific to the platform installed.
TNp Acctss and Rt-Lampinge: Top access is obtained by
loosening the top access thumb screw on the housing platform

and pivoting the top open. This will allow for inspecting and
servicing the fixture without removal. For re-lamping remove the
element by pulling downward to disengage retention springs.
Replace element by rotating retention springs upward so that
they fit inside the aperture. Push gently on element until it is
seated.
Strvicing Ltns Eltmtnose: E4 series optical elements with
the SR = shower rated / wet location listed ordering code ship
with a clear glass lens. This lens can be replaced with any of
the L4X4_ accessory glass lens for greater optical control. E4
series optical elements with the SR_G ordering code ship with
