pressed for 3 seconds. The indicated
symbol will flash.
2. Change to the next measuring mode by pressing the key
within 3 seconds.
3. Once you have selected your desired measuring mode wait
for approx. 4 seconds until the symbol ceases flashing.
Then, the selected measuring mode is active.
Note: Firstly measure on dry material and then compare the
values with the material to be measured to get a sense for the
measured values. To be able to evaluate the moisture
distribution within the material measure on different points.
Building moisture measurement
1. Select the
symbol.
2. Remove the protective cap
3. Exert slight pressure to press the puncture probes
material.
4. The display will show the measured value and a LED lights.
LOW (green) = 0.3 – <0.6%
MID (yellow) = 0.6 – <0.9%
HIGH (red) = >0.9 – 2.0%
5. Reattach the protective cap after completion of the
measurement.
Wood moisture measurement
1. Select the
symbol.
2. Remove the protective cap
3. Stick both probes
into the material (approx. 3 - 4 mm).
4. The display will show the measured value and a LED lights.
LOW (green) = 8 – <14%
wood is dry and suited as firewood,
no rotting
MID (yellow) = 14 – <20 %
marginal wood moisture,
further checks required
HIGH (red) =
>20 – 60 %
wood moisture too high,
wood not suited as firewood,
risk of rotting
Note: Please refer to the "Wood Correction Table" (see
page 29/32).
5. Reattach the protective cap after completion of the
measurement.
Temperature measurement
1. Select °C or °F.
2. The display will indicate the ambient temperature.
Switching off
The moisture measuring device will automatically switch off
after approx. 1 minute if no more measurements are made.
Display lighting
Press the key
to activate the display lighting for approx. 15
seconds.
Maintenance and cleaning
