Problem
Hedge trimmer
doesn't work.
Excessive vibration
or noise.

Cause
1. The battery pack is not
attached to the hedge
trimmer.
2. No electrical contact
between the hedge
trimmer and battery pack.
3. The battery pack is
depleted.
4. The battery pack or the
hedge trimmer is too hot.
5. The front and rear switch
levers are not depressed
simultaneously.
6. The blade is jammed.
1. Dry or corroded blades.
2. Blades or blade support is
bent.
3. Bent for damaged teeth.
4. Loose blade bolts.
Remedy
1. Attach the battery pack to the hedge
trimmer
2. Remove the battery pack, check
contacts and reinstall the battery pack.
3. Charge the battery pack.
4. Remove the battery pack from the
hedge trimmer and allow the battery
pack or the hedge trimmer to cool
down.
5. Press the lock-off button first and then
press the switch levers in the front and
rear handle simultaneously.
6. Remove the battery pack from the tool,
remove the obstruction carefully, then
reinsert the battery and restart the tool.
1. Lubricate the blades, following the
section "Lubricating the Blade" in the
manual.
2. Replace with a new blade or support.
Have the tool serviced by an
Authorized SKIL Service Center or
Service Station.
3. Replace with a new blade. Have the
tool serviced by an Authorized SKIL
Service Center or Service Station.
4. Tighten the blade bolts. Using a 5/16
in. (8mm) hex wrench, turn the bolt
clockwise to tighten.
