• This engine generates considerable heat. Never touch any part of the engine until it has had
time to cool. Contact with the engine, or any parts connected to the engine, could result
in a serious burn.
• This engine has been developed for use in high performance R/C cars.
• This engine has been tested and developed using CRF tuned pipes. These pipes are
recommended to obtain maximum performance. They are EFRA approved, and do not
exceed the noise limit. Please see the parts listing for details.
• For their own safety, keep small children at an appropriate distance from the engine.
Engine Design
The high-tech construction of the X312T engine is unique. The slotted Nikasil treated cylinder
and light cylinder bore taper will make the engine easy to "turn over". This is one of the big
advantages of the design. Unlike with other engines, it is normal that the piston can pass all
way through the cylinder.
Starting Warning
If too much fuel enters your engine (over-primed), it could be flooded. This may damage the
engine when starting. If this happens, remove the glow plug (CRF88836), close the main
needle valve, and apply the starter to pump out the excess of fuel. Cover the heatsink head
to prevent fuel from splashing into your eyes.
X312T Instructions
X312T engines develop enormous torque and power with lower fuel
consumption and extended engine life. The X312T is specifically designed for 1/10
scale competition cars and trucks, as well as land based vehicles designed to use
small block .12 engines. A CRF 6 X-type glow plug is supplied with the engine.
Fuel
The X312T engine has been designed to operate using high performance fuel with a
nitromethane content of 15% to 40%. Use fuel designed for use in R/C cars only. Be sure
to check the rules of your racing organization. Different organizations have different rules
regarding fuel mixtures.
Filters
Always use the engine with a clean, freshly oiled air filter mounted securely to the carburetor.
Always use the engine with a fuel filter properly installed along the fuel line.
