Operation instruction
The laminator is suitable for both cold and hot laminating. The temperature settings offers optimal result
for various pouch thicknesses. This manual will explain you how to utilize the various settings and how to
utilize the product correctly.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Connect power cord to an appropriate power source. Switch the power switch (5) on; the buzzer will
make a beep sound. The indicator COLD (3) will glow. The laminator is ready to be used when the ready
light (4) is green, please go to step 4 for further operation instructions. Touch the pouch selection but-
tons (6) to select the appropriate pouch thickness. The indicator (3) will glow and the buzzer will make 2
beep sounds. The laminator will heat up. When the ready light (4) turns green you can start laminating.
2. It takes about 1,5 minutes to reach operational temperature. Room temperature effects ready time
significantly.
3. Centre the laminating item into a laminating pouch (max. 175 micron) so that the borders are even on all
the sides (Figure 3). The suggested margin between the content and the sealed edge is no larger than
3 mm; the suggested margin in the left, right, and the open end is no larger than 3 mm (Figure 3). Never
laminate a small object in a large pouch because excessive plastic will melt, and eventually scorch, as
there is no document in between to capture the heat. The rollers will get stuck and your laminator will
need to be repaired (beyond warranty).
4. The material that is to be laminated, is not allowed to be thicker than 0.7 mm including the film.
5. Insert the pouch with the item, sealed-edge first, straight into the laminator inlet (1). Hold the pouch
until the machine automatically pulls it in.
6. The laminated item will automatically exit the outlet (2) of the pouch laminator. After the pouch has
stopped moving, the pouch can be removed.
7. When a misfeed or jam occurs, the jam indicator (4) will light up. Press the reverse button (7) and the roll-
ers will reverse. Help the document out at the entry side (1)
8. When not in use the laminator will shut off automatically after 10 minutes
PRECAUTION
1. DO NOT LAMINATE AN EMPTY POUCH!
2. As soon as the lamination is finished, remove the document immediately from the outlet (2) and place it
on a cool and flat surface to prevent the pouch from curling.
3. If white spots appear on the laminated document, turn around the document, upside down and front-
side behind and laminate one more time.
4. Single sided lamination is NOT possible. This will destroy the machine!
5. DO NOT insert the open end of the pouch into the machine to prevent it from being rolled into the
machine.
6. Before laminating valuable items, do a test run with an item similar in size and thickness.
7. Do not laminate dirty or damaged pouches.
8. Trim excess pouch material from around your item after laminating and cooling.
9. Do not laminate heat-sensitive documents (i.e., tickets, ultrasounds, etc.).
10. Use a dry-erase marker for writing on laminated pouches.
11. Use DESQ® brand pouches for best results. Select correct pouch size, and thickness, for laminated
item.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

1. If the pouch is rolled into the laminator or break down, send your machine to your service point for
repairing. DO NOT open the housing of the machine.
2. Unplug the machine while it is being wiped. Clean the machine with a slightly moist, soft cloth. Do not
use a wet cloth or any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents while doing so.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARD

1. The unit is intended for indoor use only.
2. Do not drop the machine or put any object on top of it to avoid the housing to break. If it happens,
unplug the laminator.
3. The pouch laminator must be connected to a supply voltage corresponding to the electrical rating of the
machine as indicated.
4. Children have to be attended by adults while using the machine; to protect the children from being burnt
of shocked.
5. If the laminator smells burning, unplug the machine immediately and contact the service representative.
6. Unplug the laminator before it is moved, or when it is not in use for an extended period of time. When
using the laminator for an extended time, turn off the machine for an hour for every other eight hours.
7. Do not place the laminator near a heat generating object like furnaces or radiators.
8. The machine and the power cord should be away from water to avoid electrical shock.
9. Place unit on a secure, stable area to prevent the machine falling and possibly causing personal injury
and damage to the unit.
10. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its Service Agent or similarly
qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
11. Do not block the vent slots, this will cause the laminator to overheat
