PROCEDURE FOR INSTALLING AP310 WATER FILTER
Before starting, close shutoff valve on cold water line.

1. This product is equipped with a shut-off valve and may be
installed at any convenient location along the water line.
This may be in a basement, under the sink, inside a
cabinet, on a wall or behind the refrigerator. The shut-off
valve lets you turn on and off the water flow in order to
change the filter. If installing behind the refrigerator, use
factory pre-drilled holes or use the heavy duty double
sided tape to attach the mounting bracket. Do not drill
holes into the refrigerator! The mounting bracket may be
installed with the back of the bracket in the up or down
position as shown. Fasten the bracket with screws (not
included) or use the heavy duty double sided tape strip;
cut strip in half. Be sure to allow at least 2 inches (5 cm)
of clearance below the filter assembly.
IMPORTANT: Inlet port is marked 3. Outlet port is
marked 1. All other markings on the filter head are to
be ignored.
2. After the mounting bracket is fastened, apply two wraps of
Teflon ® tape to the shut-off valve threads. Then screw the
shut-off valve into the INLET port of the head assembly by
hand. Be careful not to overtighten. 1/4" NPT brass
compression fittings are required to connect the outlet
water line. Now you are ready to cut the 1/4" water supply
line. Double check to see if you turned off the water. Use
a single edged razor for plastic lines or a pipe cutter for

copper lines. Be careful not to crimp the copper line and
file the cut ends to remove any burrs. Aqua-Pure
Quick Connect fittings which automatically make a water-
tight seal just by pushing the water line into the fittings.
Push the incoming water line into the shut-off valve as far
as it will go (about a 1/2 inch).
3. Attach the head assembly to the mounting bracket with the
screws provided.
4. Install cartridge: Align tabs of cartridge with head
assembly and insert up into head assembly. Turn filter
cartridge counter clockwise until it stops (about a 1/4 turn).
Your filter is now installed. Check the filters shut-off valve
and place in closed position (see diagram). Turn water
supply back on from the original valve. Next, turn on the
water supply at the filters shut-off valve. This will pressurize
the filter system and begin sending filtered water to the
appliance. Check for leaks. If leaks occur, see trouble
shooting guide. Flush the filter to remove any trapped air
and carbon fines. Refrigerators: run the water tap for a
full five minutes. Refrigerators with Icemakers only:
remove the water line from the appliance and place end
into a bucket before turning water supply on at the filters
shut-off valve: flush for approximately five minutes before
reattaching water line to appliance.
