ALTEC INSTRUCTION MANUAL • M-404-001 rev. 2
6.6 Power Supply for the Load Cell (Models EI-185 / EI-264)
For Load Cells powered with 5 Vdc (CMC or similar), connect the Jumper 5 in the position 1-2.
For 10 Vdc power supply (ALTEC or similar), connect the Jumper 5 in the position 2-3.
6.7 Gain Adjustment (Models EI-185 / EI-264)
This adjustment is required to amplify the signal proceeding from the load cell(s). The table
below indicates the positions and respective values:
Jumper 6
Position 1;
Jumper 6
Position 2;
Jumper 6
Position 3;
Jumper 6
Position 4;
For ALTEC cells, put the Jumper 6 in the position 1; if the reading does not reach the maximum
value desired, position in 2.
6.8 Analog Output Selection (Models EI-185 / EI-264)
For a voltage indication output in 0 - 10 Vdc, position the Jumper 7 in 1-2. For 4 - 20 mA,
position the Jumper 7 in 2-3.
7.0
Calibration (Models EI-185/EI-264)
The unit must be calibrated in order that the normal operation voltages are in the middle of the
scale and the maximum voltages are not out of scale.
Note: When the load cells are installed near to a heat source, we recommend to let the machine
operating during a period of time, in order they reach the operating temperature.
Calibration by the weight or dynamometer method
ANCHORED
END
A. Make sure the connections and adjustments are correct and the load cells are positioned as
recommended in the cell manual.
B. Remove the front plastic frame of the indicator. Take care to not apply excessive force that
could damage the frame.
C. Turn on the equipment and wait at least 5 minutes for heating.
D. Turn fully the span Trimpot (RV2) in the clockwise direction. Turn the "scale" trimpor (RV3) in the
middle of the course (7.5 shifts) - model EI-185.
