Using your Petrol Vacuum Blower
• Never operate the unit unless it is in good working condition
and properly assembled for the specific task – blower action
or vacuum action. See 'Assembling your Petrol Blower Vac'
for appropriate assembly guidance.
• You cannot use the unit in blow and vacuum mode at the
same time.
Using the Blower action
• Start the blower engine as previously described. Hold the
blower firmly about 10 - 20 cm from the ground and move it in
a sweeping motion from left to right, directing the debris to the
desired location.
This leaf blower can efficiently move a wide variety of debris
ranging from grass clippings to gravel. As a general rule try to
operate the blower at the lowest throttle setting necessary to get
the job done.
• Use low throttle settings when clearing lightweight materials
from around lawns or shrubbery.
• Use medium to higher throttle settings to move lightweight grass
or leaves from driveways or paths.
• Use full throttle when moving heavy loads such as dirt or snow.
IMPORTANT. Blower noise increases at higher throttle settings.
Always use the lowest throttle setting required to get the job
done.
Using the Vacuum action
• Never operate the vacuum without the Collection bag (19)
attached. Always make sure the bag zipper is closed when
the unit is in use.
• Start the engine, as previously described.
• Use both hands to hold the unit, one hand on the D handle
(11).
• When the vacuum is in operation, air and debris are drawn
up through the large vac tube and forced through the metal
mulching impeller. The debris is mulched and then blown
down into the collection bag.
Tips for efficient vacuum operation
• Vacuum dry leaves, cuttings or general garden debris.
• Wet material is difficult to mulch and also can cause the vac
to clog.
• If the leaves etc. are damp, use the blower action to pile the
material into one area. Reassemble the unit, and vac the
leaves when dry.
• DO NOT use the vac on areas where there are stones or
other hard objects. These objects will damage the mulcher.
• It is also advisable not to allow the vac to pick up soil. Soil
generally contains moisture and when combined with other
garden debris can clog the unit.
• The vac is not a garbage disposal unit. Do not attempt to
mulch any material other than general garden debris.
• For better performance and comfort, empty the collection
bag when it is half full. This reduces the weight and also
allows the vac to perform at its highest level.

To empty the collection bag
• Always stop the engine before emptying the collection bag.
• It is not necessary to remove the collection bag from the
blower vac. The rear of the bag is fitted with a full length zip.
• Simply open the zip and empty the contents.
• Be sure to close the zip prior to restarting the blower vac.
