1 1 decoder and one key pad
J3 = ON
Terminals 1 2 of decoder wired to key board terminals. Polarity is not relevant.
2 Many decoders and one key pad
There is a maximum of 20 decoders that can be connected on the same line by putting jumper J3 to ON each 5
decoders that are being installed. The terminals of each decoder must be wired together as terminals 2. The
wiring to the key pad is made through two wire cables not polarised.
3 Many decoders and many key boards
There is a maximum of 20 decoders that can be connected to 20 key boards. In this case the key boards must
be powered by a third cable (+24) that comes from a whatsoever command unit. Every 5 decoders jumper J3
must be ON, while the decoder wiring will be as in the precedent case. The key board line terminals will always
be not polarised.
FUNCTIONING
- Put dip switch J1 to ON.
The access code will be forced to 0.
- Put dip switch J2 to OFF.
The key pad will be disconnected after three mistakes in a row.
- Put jumper J3 to ON.
The decoder becomes power supplier for the key pad. Anyway follow the previous paragraph according to
possible uses.
- Put jumper J4 in position 1-2 to have pedestrian opening by an opening code. Put jumper J4 in position 3-4 in
case of normal opening.
- Plug the decoder module in the radio connector or wire to the terminals (see Fig. 1) if the connector is already
being taken.
- Check that key pad is being light-back when the module is working.
- Type the main code (five-figure number printed on a label placed on relè RL1, see Note) and push E (it's the
confirming and ending code button that allows the data sending).
A two second lasting sound will be heard if the code is right.
- Push E button.
Another two second lasting sound will be heard.
- Type the code to be used as accessing code (maximum 8 digits) and then push E.
Another two second lasting sound will be heard.
- Put dip switch J1 to OFF.
In case a mistake is being done while dialling, you can push X button (erase) before pushing E. The code
number must be entered again after erase. If E is not pushed after the code entering, the key board resets after
some seconds emitting a short sound and is ready for a new code. Dip switch J2 in OFF position cuts the line
supply so to prevent the key pad from working for 90 seconds in case a wrong code is being dialled for three
times in a row. All this will guarantee security against attempts of code entering by not authorised people.
MODIFYING THE ACCESS CODE
- Type the main code (the number printed on the decoder) followed by button E (see note).
A two second lasting sound will be heard if the code is correct.
- Type the so far used code followed by E.
Another long sound will be heard.
- Type the new access number (maximum of 8 digits).
A new sound like the previous one will be heard so to inform the user that the new code has been memorised.
- Check that the automation works by dialling the new code.
NOTE:
In case the new 9 digit board is being used in connection with an old decoder in the 12 digits version, you must
act like this to dial numbers higher than 6:
Push button 6 anyway and keep it pressed until you hear some subsequent "bips" (as much as are needed to
reach the desired number).
Example: Number to digit = 8: - Push button 6
