9 TROUBLESHOOTING

Possible Causes
-Power cord not connected to outlet
-Dead Power outlet
-Internal fuse melted or defective
electronic component
-Light beam blocked:
Holder misaligned
-Lamp is old or defective
-Lamp is off alignment
-Defective electronic component
-Insufficient warm up time
-Poor grounding
-Excessive vibration, strong air
current near light source, or strong
external light.
-Lamp old or defective
-Unstable power supply
-Defective or dirty detector or
defective electronic component
-Insufficient sample volume
-Wrong wavelength setting
Failed to blank (0A/100%T)
-Stray sample preparation vapours
-Bubbles or particles in solution
-Instrument out of electronic
calibration

Solution
-Plug instrument in
-Change to a different outlet
-Change fuse or call an authorized
service engineer.
-Check sample holder
-Replace lamp
-Readjust the lamp
-Call an authorized service
engineer
-Warm up at least 20 minutes
-Check ground connection
-Improve working conditions
-Replace with a new lamp
-Equip a manostat to make the
voltage stable
-Call an authorized service
engineer
-Fill cuvette with more samples
-Check analytical procedure and
wavelength setting.

instrument. Use proper
