1 Installation
Pocket-CASSY wird mit dem mitgelieferten USB-Kabel über
einen USB-Port an einen PC angeschlossen. Benötigt wird
dazu ein 500 mA-Port. Das sind normalerweise alle eingebau-
ten Ports sowie Ports in USB-Hubs, die extern mit Spannung
versorgt werden (z.B. Monitore aber keine Tastaturen).
Beim ersten Anschluss wird Pocket-CASSY vom Betriebssys-
tem automatisch erkannt und die notwendigen Treiber werden
installiert. Unter Windows 98 muss die Treiberinstallation noch
manuell bestätigt werden. Dazu die erscheinenden Dialogfens-
ter mit „Weiter" bestätigen und schließlich die Windows-
Installations-CD bereitstellen. Nach der Installation der Treiber
wird Pocket-CASSY von der Software CASSY Lab (524 200)
automatisch gefunden.
Installiert wird CASSY Lab automatisch durch Einlegen der
CASSY Lab CD-ROM oder manuell durch Start der Datei
SETUP.EXE und Befolgen der Bildschirmmitteilungen. Die
Software wird eingerichtet wird unter „Start → Programme →
CASSY Lab".
2 Technische Daten
Die technischen Daten von Pocket-CASSY entnehmen Sie bitte
der CASSY Lab Online-Dokumentation.
CASSY Lab läuft mit Pocket-CASSY auf Windows 98/ Me/
2000/ XP-Systemen mit Pentium III, 300 MHz oder höher. Meh-
rere Pocket-CASSYs können gleichzeitig an unterschiedlichen
USB-Ports betrieben werden. CASSY Lab kann aber nicht
gleichzeitig mit Pocket-CASSY und anderen CASSY-Modulen
verwendet werden (z.B. Sensor-CASSY).
3 Online-Dokumentation
Die Programmbeschreibung von CASSY Lab sowie die Be-
schreibung der verschiedenen CASSY-Module entnehmen Sie
bitte der CASSY Lab Online-Dokumentation. Dort sind auch
zahlreiche Versuchsbeispiele beschrieben.

Beim heutigen Stand der Softwareentwicklung ist es nicht
möglich, die Fehlerfreiheit eines Produktes zu garantieren.

Haftung für Schäden, die aus der Installation oder der An-
wendung von Pocket-CASSY und CASSY Lab resultieren.
Zur elektrischen Sicherheit:
• An Pocket-CASSY angeschlossene Sensoren und Sen-
sorboxen nicht mit Spannungen über 30 V beschalten.
• Mögliche Masseverbindung zwischen Sensoren und
Computer beachten.

1 Installation
Pocket-CASSY is connected to a PC via a USB port using the
enclosed USB cable. For this a 500 mA port is required. Usually
all built-in ports as well as ports in USB hubs with external
voltage supply (e.g. monitors, but not keyboards) are of this
type.
When Pocket-CASSY is connected for the first time, it is
identified by the operating system automatically and the
necessary drivers are installed. Under Windows 98 the driver
installation has still to be done manually. To do this, confirm the
dialog windows that appear on the screen with "Continue" and
finally insert the Windows installation CD ROM. After the drivers
have been installed, Pocket-CASSY is found automatically by
the CASSY Lab software (524 200).
CASSY Lab is installed
CASSY Lab CD ROM or manually by starting the file
SETUP.EXE and following the instructions on the screen. The
software is configured under „Start → Programs → CASSY
Lab".
2 Technical data
Please refer to the CASSY Lab online documentation for the
technical data.
In conjunction with Pocket-CASSY, CASSY Lab runs on
Windows 98/ Me/ 2000/ XP systems with Pentium III, 300 MHz
or higher. Several Pocket-CASSYs
simultaneously on different USB ports. However, CASSY Lab
cannot be used in conjunction with Pocket-CASSY and other
CASSY modules (e.g. Sensor-CASSY) at the same time.
3 Online documentation
Please refer to the CASSY Lab online documentation for the
program description of CASSY Lab and for the description of
the different CASSY modules. In this documentation, numerous
experiment examples are descsribed as well.

ble to guarantee that a product is faultless. Therefore Ley-
bold Didactic GmbH does not take responsibility for any
damage resulting from the installation or use of Pocket-
CASSY and CASSY Lab.
Electrical safety:
• Do not apply voltages over 30 V to sensors and sensor
boxes which are connected to Pocket-CASSY.
• Pay attention to possible ground connections between
sensors and the computer.
